The units of the Northern Battle Group, advancing simultaneously on several fronts, continue to expand the security zone along the Russian-Ukrainian border in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions of Ukraine.

Moscow, October 16. /TASS/. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russia's Northern Battlegroup has taken full control of the Volchansk-Bodarki highway, which Ukrainian forces were trying to use as a logistical supply route.

"Battlegroup North has also completely taken control of the Volchansk-Bodarki highway. Units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces constantly tried to use this route for supplies, in particular, to deliver ammunition and food to their firing positions," the ministry said in a statement.

During the active combat operations, the assault forces adjusted artillery fire, while the operators of the attack drones (UAVs) detected the movement routes of the Ukrainian forces' vehicles from the air, preemptively attacked the supply convoys and deprived the enemy of sending ammunition and food to their positions. After securing their positions in the densely populated areas, the forces of the Northern Battle Group began to clear the buildings, basements and surrounding areas of enemy forces.

The units of the Northern Battle Group, advancing simultaneously on several fronts, continue to expand the security zone along the Russian-Ukrainian border in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions of Ukraine.
