Important fuel card news for cardholders / What changes await fueling?
The spokesperson for the country's fuel station guild said efforts to follow up on the problems faced by station operators and the public will continue, and stressed that any criticisms or possible objections should be pursued through expert channels.
The spokesman of the country's gas stations association emphasized on following up the problems of the gas station owners and the people and said: We will not abandon the problems of the gas stations, and we are doing the necessary follow-ups to solve the problems such as disruptions in bank cards and refueling process.
Reza Nawaz, the spokesperson of the country's fuel stations association, emphasizing on following up the problems and demands of the fuel stations, said: fuel stations are providing services, and the longer the processes related to their activity, the more problems and troubles will arise for them; Therefore, we consider it our duty to follow up on issues and reflect the problems of people and those in positions, and we continue on this path.
He stated: On the one hand, we follow up on the issues and problems of the incumbents, and on the other hand, people share their criticisms, suggestions and problems with us. Since fuel stations are one of the main points of people's encounter with this sector, we consider reflecting these issues and insisting on solving the problems to be part of our social mission.
Nawaz, referring to some issues pursued by the country's fuel stations association, added: For example, the issue of 1000 Tomans, as well as the problems related to refueling motorcycles and connecting and disconnecting some bank cards at gas stations, are among the issues we are following up on. In the context of the disruption of some bank cards, we also have to talk with the central bank and inquire about the cause of these problems, so we will not abandon the issues and continue to follow them.
Experimental implementation of the plan to transfer fuel quota to a bank card
The spokesperson of the country's gas station association also explained about the plan to transfer the fuel quota to a bank card: this plan was approved, but it took about six to seven months to compile and approve its regulations. People who criticized in this regard should have followed up why the approval of the regulations took this long. Finally, the regulations were approved and announced, then the war happened, and after that, the trial implementation of the plan was also done with our help.
He continued: As far as I remember, the trial implementation of this project was carried out in two places, and now the scope of its trial implementation is to be expanded in five provinces of Tehran, Alborz, Qazvin, Qom, Semnan and Hamedan. Of course, the association of fuel stations did not play a role in the selection of the provinces where the trial will take place, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance is the executor of this project.
Nawaz said about the implementation of the plan to transfer fuel quota to a bank card: In this plan, a person first puts his fuel card in the device and after refueling, swipes his bank card and then by entering the desired liter amount, the amount is calculated based on the person's quota and payment is made.
Organizing refueling with a free card and the necessity of consumption management
Referring to the issue of identification of fuel cards, he stated: The identification plan, because the said law has not yet been implemented, and on the other hand, due to the restrictions on the production and supply of petroleum products and the intensity of consumption in the country, the responsibility for supply and supply of fuel rests with the subsidiary companies of the Ministry of Petroleum.
Nawaz added: In the same way that in case of queues at stations or closure of a station, criticism is aimed at this department, the authorities are also trying to organize the situation of refueling with Azad card, which is an important part of refueling, especially in the gasoline sector; This arrangement may also help to reduce consumption.
The spokesperson of the country's fuel stations association said about the effect of these measures on fuel smuggling: These measures may have an effect on smuggling, but organized smuggling is an issue beyond the use of free fuel card and dealing with it cannot be limited to this issue only.
He also pointed to the recent statements of the government spokesperson and explained: The meaning of the statements made is that since the implementation of the 10,000 tomans price of gasoline, the consumption of this product has decreased by seven percent or even more on some days. However, this decrease in consumption has nothing to do with the implementation of the identification plan for the location cards, and the statistics related to this plan will be announced in the future.
Criticizing the way some issues related to fuel stations are raised in the public space, Nawaz said: "Unfortunately, in some cases, the market for raising these issues gets heated, and recently we have seen that some officials and experts pursue their political and factional settlements on the issue of fuel stations." Sometimes, among a large number of refuelings, one item is selected and highlighted in order to use it to attack a plan or policy without considering the general conditions of the station's activity.
The spokesperson of the country's gas stations association added: publishing such materials in practice means teaching how to bypass a system, while it is expected that possible issues and defects of the plans will be followed up through expert and specialized channels.
Referring to the activities of fuel station employees in difficult conditions, especially during the war, Nawaz said: The station employees did not leave their duties during the war and under the shadow of severe attacks and continued to provide services. However, these efforts are less mentioned among the published materials about the positions. Of course, employees do not expect thanks for performing their duties, but their efforts should not be ignored either.
Speaking in a televised interview, he emphasized: It is not possible to choose one case of inappropriate behavior from one million refueling stations in the country and highlight it, and based on that, present a negative image of the performance of 30,000 to 40,000 employees of this sector to the society. We do not accept such an approach.
Stating that the amount of violations in fuel stations is very low compared to the volume of services provided, Nawaz said: Fuel stations provide a wide range of services to people daily, and we believe that the amount of violations is very small compared to this volume of services. In this context, we are ready to defend the performance of this department and discuss it in an expert framework.
