New Details on Unblocking Blocked Mobile Phones

With the document-collection process streamlined and the matter followed up at the Anti-Smuggling Headquarters, some of the blocked phones have been released.

According to Ambassador Arjan, Farshid Shamshiri, a former member of the Mobile Commission of the Chamber of Trades of Iran, explained the latest situation of the case of blocking mobile phones that was filed in 1404 and stated: In late May 1405, a meeting was held with the presence of judicial, law enforcement and government officials at the headquarters to combat goods and currency smuggling and representatives of the Chamber of Trades. In this meeting, approvals were passed to re-collect the documents and facilitate the process of investigating the case, so that it is possible to remove the blocking of the phones that were available to the end users.

Ambassador Arjan wrote in a news: Referring to the prolonged process of handling this case, Shamshiri said: This case was filed in 1404, but despite the previous follow-ups by the people who were responsible for following up the issue, the problem of many consumers was not solved and their phones were still blocked. In the new follow-ups, we tried to pave the way to solve the problem of the final buyers by reducing the number and variety of required documents and facilitating the review process.

The former member of the Mobile Commission of the Chamber of Trades of Iran continued: With the cooperation of the Chamber of Trades of Iran and the support of consumers, a number of phones that had complete documents were unblocked after going through the necessary procedures, and it was possible to use them again. In the first phase, 46 devices with complete documents were unblocked and consumers were able to use their phones again.

Referring to the dimensions of this case, he said: At one point, about 12,000 mobile phones were disconnected or blocked. In such a situation, the end consumers who had purchased the phone for personal use faced several problems and the prolonged process left them indecisive.

He added: If the coordination between the responsible bodies and trade union representatives had been done in a more appropriate way from the beginning, and the notification and follow-ups had gone faster, it would have been possible to prevent the prolongation of this situation and the imposition of problems on the consumers.

Deficiency of documents; Preventing blocking of some phones

Referring to the previous process of collecting documents, Shamshiri said: In one of the proceedings, the representatives of the Chamber of Guilds accepted the responsibility of collecting the documents and pledged to receive the necessary documents so that the phones can be reconnected; However, the number of devices whose documents were provided was limited and a significant part of the cases were faced with defects or lack of documents.

He continued: Among the reviewed devices, some had complete documents, but for another part, sufficient documents were not provided. This made it impossible for all phones to be unblocked and some consumers are still waiting for their devices to be fixed.

Referring to the recent follow-ups, the representative of the Chamber of Guilds noted: With the efforts made and the cooperation of the Chamber of Guilds of Iran, the process of unblocking more phones was followed and it was possible to solve the problem of some consumers.

In the end, the former member of the Mobile Commission of the Chamber of Trades of Iran expressed his hope that by completing the documents and continuing the follow-up, the problem of other consumers whose phones are still blocked will also be solved and the final buyers will be able to use their purchased devices without suffering more problems.
