23 Smuggled Goods Seized in South Khorasan
Birjand - The director of food and health products monitoring and evaluation at the Deputy for Food and Drug of Birjand University of Medical Sciences announced the seizure of 23 smuggled goods in South Khorasan.
According to Mehr reporter, Mohammad Ali Sharifinia said in a press conference on the occasion of World Food Day on Wednesday evening: The Vice President of Food and Medicine of the University of Medical Sciences monitors the production level and the Vice President of Health supervises the level of food supply, and we are ready to provide advice to activists in this field so that they can obtain licenses for their products.
Conditions for obtaining a home production license
He pointed out: Home productions do not need to receive health apples and any production product with a home business license must be offered for sale in the same city where the license was issued.
The Director of Monitoring and Evaluation of Food and Health Products of the Deputy of Food and Drug of Birjand University of Medical Sciences added: Home producers must include the license and information related to the producer on their products.
Localization of the production of jujube and saffron based products
Referring to the measures taken to localize production in the province, Sharifinya said: In terms of issuing licenses for the production of jujube-based products, including powder, juice, concentrate and jujube seeds, as well as saffron extract, the necessary measures have been taken in the province.
Referring to the existence of several cases related to violations in the field of cosmetics and health products in South Khorasan, he stated: Our efforts have always been to ensure that the existing laws are implemented correctly and that the recipients of these services receive the best possible services.
The activity of 348 food production units in the province
Referring to the capacity of food production in the province, this deputy director of food and drug department of Birjand University of Medical Sciences stated: In South Khorasan, there are 348 units of food production licensed by this deputy directorate.
Referring to the classification of active units in this field, he added: Out of this number, 313 health units, 72 factories, 78 workshops and 130 home businesses are units.
Conducting 500 inspections in the first half of the year
Sharifinia stated that the monitoring of warehouses and the production process until the distribution of products is done continuously, and said: In the first six months of this year, according to the available inquiries, 500 inspections of factories, warehouses and distribution centers have been carried out.
He pointed out: During this period, 1,700 food, cosmetics and hygiene items were also sampled.
The director of supervision and evaluation of food and health products of the Deputy of Food and Drug of Birjand University of Medical Sciences continued: In addition, in the form of 123 inspections, the necessary inspections have been carried out on the level of production of cosmetics and health products and warehouses in the province.
Referring to the results of surveillance patrols in the province, Sharifinia said: These patrols have led to the discovery of 23 cases of contraband.
He added: During this period, 270 licenses have been issued or extended in the field of food, hygiene and cosmetics.
Sharifinia also announced the holding of 52 technical meetings in the field of food, cosmetics and hygiene and stated: Considering the increase in the province's imports compared to the same period last year, all imported products have been sampled.
He added: In this regard, sampling has been done from 174 food shipments so that the necessary investigations can be done in this field.
Issuance of 36 export certificates of provincial products
The Director of Monitoring and Evaluation of Food and Health Products of the Deputy of Food and Drug of Birjand University of Medical Sciences said: In the first six months of this year, 36 export certificates have been issued for products produced in the province.
He further announced the necessary tests on food products and added: During this period, tests related to 180 food products in the form of 91 brands and 368 products in the form of 165 commercial brands have been conducted.
Referring to the measures taken in the field of investigation of discovered contraband goods, Sharifinia also stated: In the area of responding to 51 questions about contraband goods discovered at the entry points of South Khorasan, the required answers have been provided.
Whole bread production in 50 bakeries of the province
In another part of his speech, Sharifinya mentioned the situation of flour production required for wholemeal bread in the province and said: Out of four flour production factories in the province, three factories, including two factories in Birjand and one factory in Qain, have received permission to produce wholemeal bread flour.
He added: Ferdous factory has not succeeded in getting this license and currently, 50 bakeries in the province produce whole bread.
