The Latest Trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake Shows Many Familiar Elements, Plus Surprising New Additions

The Switch 2 Remake Is Largely a Faithful Revisit of the Classic N64 Game, but Makes Facing Old Foes Easier Once Again

The Switch 2 remake is mostly a faithful remake of the N64 classic, but it makes it easier to face old enemies once again.

Nintendo's upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time certainly looks like a faithful remake of the Nintendo 64 classic, and most of its latest trailer leans on that by showing off nicer versions of old locales and boss fights. However, it also reveals something new that will be added in the remake: the Hall of Fallen Enemies.

This space is something of a museum that Link can visit that displays statues of enemies he has defeated throughout the game. Examining these sculpts will give you a description of the featured monster, perhaps provide new insight into its behavior and place in the world, and also tell you where you can find them again if you want to slap them for fun. That's all well and good, but the bottom line is that each of the game's boss monsters are also depicted in the Hall of Fallen Foes, and if you want to fight them again, you can do so from this room. The game also tracks your best time, so if you're chasing a new personal record, it looks like you can tackle the game's bosses as many times as you like.

Ocarina of Time is coming to Switch 2 on November 5th, and it's also a big tentpole game for the series' 40th anniversary. Next year, Nintendo and Sony are releasing a live-action movie starring Benjamin Evan Ainsworth and Bo Bragason as Link and Zelda, respectively, although a full trailer has yet to be released.

You'll have one last shot at The Zelda: Ocarina Of Time Switch 2, which goes on sale everywhere during the midnight launch.
