Malekan- The head of the Water Resources Department of Malekan announced the beginning of the operation to organize and remove illegal occupations in the Mordaghchai River bed in this city.
According to the report of Ambassador Arjan Hossein Nowrozi, on Tuesday, he stated: Freeing the boundaries and bed of rivers is one of the main priorities of water affairs to prevent possible crises in the rainy season, and in this regard, identification and removal of unauthorized encroachments along the Mardaghchai river is being pursued seriously, and this action is being carried out with the aim of increasing the capacity of the flood and improving the safety factor of the river's marginal areas.
He added: "Illegal occupations in the bed and privacy of rivers cause bottlenecks in the flow of water and decrease the capacity of water flow, and when seasonal floods occur, the risk of damage to agricultural lands, facilities and residential areas downstream greatly increases."
Nowrozi stated that the boundaries and beds of the rivers are encroachment and any encroachment on them requires obtaining legal permits. He said: Water resources department of Malekan city will deal with the violators and profiteers who have made unauthorized constructions or change of use in the boundaries of rivers, without any tolerance, based on the law of fair distribution of water.
He added: The operation of freeing the boundaries of the rivers and removing the obstacles in the way of water flow is continuous and will continue until the safe and standard condition is reached in all the rivers of the city.
Nowrozi asked the residents of the city and farmers to inquire about the legal status of the water resources department before any construction or agricultural action on the banks of the rivers in order to prevent any interference with the laws and possible judicial consequences.
