Apple unveiled its new generation smart speaker, HomePod mini 2, at a price of $149. This product is equipped with a new version of Siri with artificial intelligence capabilities that can have more natural conversations, get help from the user's personal information to perform tasks and answer various questions. Apple has also added four-speaker surround sound, light effects synchronized with music, and new smart home management features to this product.

According to Apple, the HomePod Mini 2 will be available for pre-order today in five colors, pink, green, blue, white, and black, and will begin shipping on Friday, October 30. This product will be available in America and more than 23 other countries and regions.

Apple says that the new version of Siri, built with a new architecture and based on the new generation of the company's basic models, will change the experience of using the HomePod mini 2. The assistant will be available in a future software update and will be equipped with a better understanding of the user's personal context, broader knowledge about various topics and more natural conversations.

If the speaker is connected to an iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence, Siri can get help from the user's personal information to make requests. For example, it can find a song a friend sent in a message, set a reminder based on a calendar event, find a recipe from an email, or add ingredients to a shopping list.

HomePod mini 2 can recognize the voices of up to six members of the household and provide a personalized experience for each. This feature allows safe access to information related to programs such as messages and timers and playing music that is the favorite of each user.

Once the new Siri is activated on a compatible speaker, even users without an iPhone or iPad equipped with Apple Intelligence can benefit from the assistant's broader knowledge, more natural conversations, and better music discovery capabilities.

HomePod mini 2 produces 360-degree sound and can be used alone, as a stereo pair, or in a set of connected speakers in multiple rooms. This speaker uses Apple's S10 chip and computational audio processing. The device adjusts the dynamic range, loudness and acoustic performance by analyzing the music momentarily.

One of the new features of the product is the ability to create surround sound with four speakers next to the fourth generation Apple TV 4K. In this combination, four speakers recognize their position in the room and the timing and sound level are automatically adjusted to the environment. Apple introduces this series as its most immersive home theater experience.

The HomePod mini 2 can also be used as the default Mac speaker, providing more expansive sound for watching movies, gaming, FaceTime calls, and video calls.

Apple has also introduced a new feature called Sound Glow, which turns the upper surface of the speaker into a light display. In this mode, the light is synchronized with the music and changes its intensity and pattern at the same time as the bass and bass sounds change.

The color of the light is adjusted based on the album cover design of the currently playing song and creates a different effect for each song. Users can also select ambient sounds, such as rain, to trigger light animations to match the relaxing atmosphere.

HomePod mini 2 allows you to control smart home appliances with voice command. Users can, for example, lock the front door, close the garage door when leaving, lower the curtains, adjust the temperature of the thermostat or turn off the lights before going to bed.

The HomePod Mini 2 will be available in the US at a price of $149. The pre-order of this product has started today and its in-person sales will start on October 30 in America and more than 23 other countries and regions.

The new Siri features will be available in a future software update in English in the US, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the UK. This speaker is compatible with HomePod software version 27.2.
