"Jellyfish" Uses MTV News to Reveal Final Season Rescue
A teaser for the fourth and final season of the Showtime series shows 1990s anchor Serena Altschul reporting on the return of a high school football team that went missing in the desert.
Yellowjackets are ready to tell their rescue story.
"After 19 months, Wiskayok's Yellowjackets found and rescued" — that's the headline on Showtime's hit series, promoting its fourth and final season with a clip from MTV news anchor Serena Altschul.
The show has already dipped into MTV News' nostalgia well by announcing a November 20th season five premiere date — also about 19 months after season three ended. Now a new teaser (below) shows what Ashley Lyle, Bart Nickerson, and showrunner Jonathan Lisko hinted at — there's more to the story once the teens return to their New Jersey home.

Inside Dreams in Nightmares, a reinvention of American Road
The series revolves around the survivors and the secrets they've been keeping (including about "The Pit Girl") when, as teenagers, their high school football team's plane crashes, stranding them in the Canadian wilderness. The show aired in 1998, following the fall of a team called the Yellow Jackets, and now follows the adult survivors, starring Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Hilary Swank and Juliette Lewis, Lauren Ambrose and Simon Castle (formerly).
Now the long-awaited third timeline will finally air in season four, after the end of season three.
After a deadly season that was the darkest yet, Season 3 had a revealing ending that answered big and even bigger questions and then followed teenage Natalie (Sophie Thatcher) to a mountaintop where she communicates with the outside world. The final scene puts the teenagers on the precipice of salvation, giving the coming-of-age horror drama a chance to explore the most predictable timeline: when these cannibalistic teenagers are finally saved and reintegrated into society after everything they've done.
The teaser announces that in season four, the Yellowjackets will return home for fame and celebration (including a crowd in front of MTV's famous TRL studio). The show also recreated an iconic Alanis Morissette moment (known for dropping needles), where the singer dedicated her MTV Unplugged performance of "Ironic" to the girls who are now a "symbol of hope."
The final season of Yellowjackets will feature Lynskey, Ritchie, Cypress, Sophie Nellis, Jasmine Savoy Brown, Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Warren Cole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, Nia Sundaya, Jenna Burgess and Swank.
Lyle and Bart Nickerson created the series, which is produced by Lionsgate Television. They co-star and executive produce with Lisco, Creative Engine's Drew Comins, Jeff W. Byrd, Sarah L. Thompson, Ameni Rozsa and Julia Bicknell.
