Academic Welcome for Modern Quran Education; Smart Textbook Enters Third Printing

The book 'Smart Textbook for Engaging with the Holy Quran,' which features multimedia content, practice exercises and direct links to Quranic verses, has reached its third printing following a warm reception from professors and students.

According to Mehr reporter, the book "Intelligent Textbook of Anas with the Holy Qur'an" authored by the researchers group of the General Department of Education and the provision of content of the representative body of the Supreme Leader in Islamic Azad University, has reached its third edition with the acceptance of professors and students.

Referring to the publication of the third edition of the book, Hojjatul-Islam Mohammad Marafet, the head of the research group, said: The main idea in compiling this work was to remove the lesson "Anas with the Holy Qur'an" from the format of a mere educational text and to present it in a more attractive, practical way, in accordance with the needs of today's students, along with educational technologies.

He added: Today's student deals with multimedia content and smart tools more than in the past, and it is natural that Quran teaching can also benefit from new educational capacities. Based on this, in this book, an attempt was made to establish a connection between the text of the Quran, educational content, exercises, sound and image, so that the student is not just a reader of a textbook; Rather, in the process of learning, he should find a more direct connection with the verses of the Qur'an.

Stating that this book was designed for the lesson "Anas with the Holy Qur'an", Marefat said: The book is arranged in 14 lessons and its structure is such that the teacher and student can follow a specific and coherent educational path during one semester of study. At the beginning of each lesson, educational goals are specified and at the end, questions and exercises are provided to review and consolidate the contents.

He continued: One of the important differences between this work and many common educational books is the placement of the text of the verses related to the topics next to the lesson content. In this way, at the same time, the student gets to know the concepts and teachings of the Quran, and also finds the opportunity to practice reciting and face the text of the Quran directly.

Referring to the intelligent and multimedia aspect of the book, the associate professor and faculty member of the Islamic Azad University stated: In the design of this work, efforts have been made to use the capacity of new technologies to serve the teaching of the Qur'an. The audio and visual content related to the verses and topics of the book provides a more diverse learning opportunity for students and can especially create a different experience of learning the Quran for the young generation who are used to digital tools.

He added: In this textbook, the Quran moves away from a text that is only studied in class and becomes a text that is present in the learning process. The student can see the verse, listen to its recitation, get acquainted with its details, and then review what he has learned in the form of questions and exercises.

Referring to the general use of this textbook, Marafet said: From the beginning, efforts have been made to compile the book in such a way that students of different fields and at different levels can use it. Therefore, the language and structure of the academic book is fluent and usable for the general audience of the university, and at the same time, it has been tried to have the content of the Quranic and narrative support.

He added: in compiling the topics, in addition to the verses of the Holy Quran, the traditions and teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) have also been used so that the student, in addition to familiarizing himself with the text of the Quran, can also communicate with a part of the teachings and interpretation and narration of Islam.

The head of the group of researchers who authored the book also said about the publication of its third edition: For us, reaching the third edition of the book is not just a publishing success; Rather, it is a sign of the audience's need and interest in new ways of teaching Quran in the university. The feedbacks we have received from professors and students show that the combination of educational content, Quranic verses, lesson exercises and audio and visual facilities has been able to create a different experience for a part of the audience.

Marafet noted: Of course, we do not consider this book as a final work without the possibility of modification. Each edition is an opportunity to receive professors' and students' feedback and examine the strengths and areas that can be improved, and we will try to improve the content of the work in the next editions in accordance with the educational needs of the university and technological developments.

In the end, he said: The main goal of compiling the "Smart Textbook of Anas with the Holy Quran" was that the student, after completing this course, would not only memorize a few topics and concepts for the exam; Rather, he should find more connection with the Quran itself and be able to follow some of its teachings and messages in his personal, scientific and social life. Reaching the third edition of this work is an incentive to continue this path and develop new models of Quran teaching in the university environment.

In this opportunity, I feel it necessary to sincerely appreciate and thank the esteemed Maarif Publishing Group; Because the companionship, accuracy, taste and taste in the preparation and presentation of this work, continuous follow-up in the printing process, as well as appropriate services to deliver the book to the hands of professors and students, have played an important role in the success and acceptance of this work.
