Referring to Bonab's capacities in grape processing and raisin production, he added: The activity of the city's processing units is not only limited to the products of gardeners in the region, and a significant amount of grapes and related products from other provinces are also transferred to Bonab for processing.
Director of Banab Agricultural Jihad, stating that this year, about 100,000 tons of grapes from different provinces have been transferred to this city for processing, said: This capacity has turned Banab into one of the important centers for the collection, processing and supply of raisins in domestic and foreign markets.
Alivand announced the number of active grape processing factories in Benab as 16 units and said: About 700 workshops are also active in this field, of which nearly 600 units work in the traditional way.
According to him, the activities of these complexes, along with industrial factories, have provided employment opportunities, increasing the added value of agricultural products and meeting the needs of export markets.
The increase in raisin exports depends on the removal of obstacles
Referring to the export capacity of this city, Director of Banab Agricultural Jihad said: In the past, the amount of Banab raisin exports was about 60 thousand tons, but if the obstacles in the export path are removed and producers and processing industry activists are supported, it is possible to increase the export to more than 100 thousand tons.
Pointing to the continuation of grape harvest in the orchards of the city, he added: Currently, more than 40% of Bonab's grape orchards have not been harvested, and with the completion of the harvest and continued processing of the product, the volume of raisin production can also increase.
Alivand emphasized: Having extensive processing infrastructure and the presence of a large number of activists in this area is one of the important agricultural capacities of Benab, and using these capabilities, along with solving export problems, can help increase exports, create added value for agricultural products, and strengthen the city's position in the country's raisin market.
