Muslim Congress Member Recounts Trump's “10-Year” Campaign Against Them
Somali-American Congress member, responding Monday to a federal agents' raid on their home, said this is the latest example of the Trump administration's “political intimidation campaign.”
A Somali-born congressman on Monday called the raid on his home by federal agents the latest example of a "campaign of political intimidation" by the Trump administration.
According to Ambassador Arjan, American lawmaker Ilhan Omar reacted to the recent raid of federal agents on his house by publishing a message on X social network.
He said: "I am fine. "Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and use federal law enforcement agencies as a tool."
Omar added: "Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and destruction campaigns for 10 years. "This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation."
Agents of the US Department of Internal Security Investigations, a branch of the Immigration and Customs Administration of this country, raided Ilhan Omar's home in the Washington area this morning local time as part of the investigation into his immigration documents.
This representative has been the target of political insults by the American president many times. Trump also introduced the American Somali community as a threat to the state of Minnesota and called Somalis "garbage".
Trump said in February that Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, another Muslim Democratic representative who is of Palestinian descent, should be sent back to where they came from.
