Visiting Alamut Castle and historical monuments of Qazvin city is one of the plans of this trip; A trip that, in addition to introducing the tourism capacities of the region, also highlights the need to strengthen Alamut's infrastructure and amenities.
"Mehrdad Karimi", Director General of International Affairs of Iranology Foundation, explaining the details of this trip, said: This program was prepared after the peace day ceremony at the Iranology Foundation and with the aim of familiarizing foreign diplomats with Iran's historical and civilizational capacities.
In an interview with Ambassador Arjan's reporter, he stated: Foreign ambassadors and diplomats usually do not get the opportunity to visit many regions of the country due to busy work and various considerations, and their trips are mostly limited to Tehran or well-known tourist destinations such as Isfahan and Shiraz.
Referring to the purpose of this program, Karimi added: We are trying to introduce the historical and natural heritage of the less-seen regions of Iran by starting a continuous process of holding diplomatic tours so that the diplomats get to know the cultural and civilizational capacities of the country closely.
Director General of International Affairs of Iranology Foundation continued: With the coordination of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of the province, the members of the delegation are staying in Qazvin and according to the time available, they will also visit some historical monuments of the city.
He expressed his hope that this program will be a prelude to the design of combined tourism routes so that foreign diplomats can visit the historical and cultural capacities of several Iranian cities in several days' trips.
Introducing attractions depends on strengthening the infrastructure
The Director General of International Affairs of the Iranian Studies Foundation emphasized the effect of diplomats' field visits on the international introduction of Iran and stated: Transferring the direct experiences and information received by these people to the decision-making institutions and tourism activists of their countries can be effective in changing the attitude towards Iran and increasing the desire of foreign tourists to travel to the country.
At the same time, he considered it necessary to strengthen Alamut's welfare and tourism infrastructure and said: the responsibility of the Iranian Studies Foundation is to facilitate these trips and connect the country's cultural capacities with international audiences, but the development of the region's facilities requires the support of the governorate and executive bodies of the province.
Referring to the progress of the access road to Alamut compared to the old road, Karimi added: The construction and reopening of the new road has facilitated commuting to this area, but for the sustainable development of tourism, other required infrastructures and services must also be strengthened.
He stated about some welfare problems, including internet disruptions and water outages in the sanitary services of the region: With the increase in tourist visits and the presence of foreign groups, the need to provide equipment and facilities that meet the needs of tourists is felt more than in the past, and the organization of these services should be followed up by the responsible institutions.
