MP: I Don't Accept Slowing Internet Speed to Prevent Cyberattacks

The deputy chair of the Parliament's Industries and Mines Committee, stressing the need to protect infrastructure, said he does not accept reducing internet speed on this justification and that it must not harm businesses.

The Vice-Chairman of the Parliament's Industries and Mines Commission, emphasizing the necessity of infrastructure protection, said that he does not accept the reduction of internet speed with this justification and businesses should not be harmed.

According to Ambassador Arjan's report, quoted by Sitna, Seyyed Javad Hosseinikia, the vice chairman of the Parliament's Industries and Mines Commission, in response to the recent statements of the government spokesperson about the reasons for reducing the internet speed in war conditions, said: War conditions definitely have their own special conditions, and in the world during times of war, field decisions are made according to war issues.

He added: In my opinion, it is not acceptable to reduce the speed of the Internet to prevent cyber attacks. It seems that we should not disturb the businesses and activities related to them.

Hosseinikia emphasized: We must follow our defense measures seriously and review the infrastructure so that, God forbid, we do not face challenges in the face of cyber attacks.

In this week's press conference, government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani, in response to a question about the continued disruption and instability of the Internet and the lack of clear reports on the real quality of the network, referring to war conditions and cyber attacks, said: due to the importance of databases and Internet-based services, the custodian devices may be forced to reduce the speed of the Internet; We do not deny it and declare that this action is being taken in order to protect the country's assets.
