ZEC jumps 11% even as its ETF loses $15 million
Bitcoin rallied above $82,000 on Friday, a day after a brief dip below $80,000, as ZEC led a broader cryptocurrency rally with an 11 percent jump to around $1,230 — even as investors withdrew money from the token's only U.S.-based ETF.
SOL and Ether rose more than 3 percent each to around $106 and $2,450, respectively, and DOGE and XRP rose between 2 and 3 percent. According to CoinDesk data, BNB, HYPE and TRX were up around 1%, and Bitcoin was up nearly 1%.
ETFs haven't made the leap. The US ZEC fund lost about $15 million on Thursday, its fifth exit this month, according to SoSoValue data. Ether funds lost about $60 million, and SOL funds lost nearly $10 million, their ninth consecutive day of withdrawals. XRP funds experienced a slight outflow.
Bitcoin ETFs gained a net $5 million, a small inflow after Wednesday's $261 million outflow.
Bitcoin ETF's second straight day of inflows is the first sign that buyers are leaving the $80,000 jump.
