Baghaei: US Claims About Control of the Strait of Hormuz Do Not Match Reality
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson, referring to US claims about controlling the Strait of Hormuz, said: I don't think financial markets will pay attention to such claims made by Americans. As we see, Americans themselves have turned to other countries to secure fuel, and this speaks for itself.
At the beginning of his press conference with journalists, Esmail Beqaei celebrated the arrival of "Hafez Day" by reciting verses from Hafez Shirazi, this famous Iranian poet.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continued in response to the question that the Americans claim that Iran has lost the lever of the Strait of Hormuz and now the control of the Strait of Hormuz is in their hands? He said: The Americans' claims in this regard do not match what we are witnessing on the ground.
He added: "They can say that Iran has lost its leverage, but we are doing our job and I don't think that the financial markets will pay attention to such claims made by the Americans, as we can see that the Americans themselves have resorted to other countries for fuel supply, and this is self-explanatory of the situation."
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the events that happened in the Strait of Hormuz were not for leveraging, and continued: What we are witnessing in the Strait of Hormuz since March 9, 1404, is the result of the actions of the United States and Israel, and as long as the United States insists on making this waterway unsafe through economic blockade and naval warfare, security will not return to this waterway.
Baqaei said: We are not happy with this situation because the security of the Strait of Hormuz is necessary for us more than anything else, but America has created trouble for itself, the region and the world with this aggressive action.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continued in response to Ambassador Arjan's question regarding the telephone conversation between the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia last night, while we are witnessing an increase in tension between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, as well as the Wall Street Journal's report that the Saudi crown prince has emphasized that diplomatic channels between Iran and Saudi Arabia should be maintained, but Riyadh supports increasing economic pressure on Iran? He said: It is natural for the media to have their own analysis.
We are ready to resolve the tension between Saudi Arabia and Yemen
He added: This conversation was a continuation of the consultations that Iran has with the countries of the region, we are very worried about the events that are happening in the Arabian Peninsula. Many times we have declared our readiness to help and solve this issue and conduct a dialogue between the parties, because we believe that the continuation and escalation of tension between the two Islamic countries will only cause the exploitation of the Zionist regime, and we do not accept that there is conflict and tension between the two Islamic countries, on the other hand, our region is already tense enough due to the actions of the Zionist regime and America.
Baqaei emphasized that the people of Yemen have the right to live an honorable life without siege and pressure.
The spokesperson of the diplomatic agency noted: In last night's call, we announced our readiness to help resolve this tension through dialogue.
