The Director General of International Relations and Cooperation of the Central Bank of Iran described the presence of the Iranian delegation at the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Bangkok and evaluated it as a positive step. The post Development of cooperation and promotion of trade mechanisms at the meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank appeared first on Safir Arjan.

According to Ambassador Arjan, Hossein Kashiri, who is present at the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Bangkok, Thailand, emphasized the importance of the opportunities created in this meeting for the development of economic and banking interactions and said: The IMF and World Bank summit, in addition to providing the basis for multilateral issues, is a good opportunity to conduct bilateral negotiations and follow up on the interactions we have had with different countries.

Keshiri said: One of the main goals of attending this summit is to use the opportunity to follow up on previous negotiations and agreements and to strengthen relations with countries with which the Islamic Republic of Iran has had economic and banking interactions in the past.

Investigating regional developments, energy and sanctions in the summit

Referring to the current conditions of the region and international developments, Keshiri stated that various issues including energy issues, sanctions and other economic developments and international transportation have been taken into consideration in this summit.

He added: The Islamic Republic of Iran has also had an effective presence in the discussions related to these issues and has presented its views.

The Director General of International Relations and Cooperation of the Central Bank said that negotiations were held with the Iraqi delegation and both sides emphasized the continuation of cooperation, coordination in the process of previous interactions and follow-up of previous agreements.

The positive perspective of Iran's economic cooperation with the countries of the region

Referring to Iran's relations with the countries of the Middle East and North Africa region, known as the MENAP region, Keshiri positively evaluated the prospect of economic cooperation with the countries of this area.

He said: From the point of view of regional communication, the meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank provides a good opportunity, especially for interaction with the countries of the Middle East, North Africa and West Asia, since the Islamic Republic of Iran has had good relations and cooperation with various countries in this region.

The Director General of International Relations and Cooperation of the Central Bank, referring to countries such as Al Jazeez, Pakistan, Iraq and Thailand, added: In the negotiations, the political and economic capacities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region were emphasized, and the parties to the dialogue have also expressed their interest in developing bilateral cooperation despite the obstacles and limitations in various fields.

Kashiri said: The active presence of the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the meeting of the Group of 24 and the speech in this group were among the actions that took place. Also, the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran had an effective presence at the Eurasian Summit, which was held on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund meetings, and good discussions and exchanges were held with the Eurasian countries.

The necessity of creating alternative mechanisms for commercial exchanges

Keshiri considered one of the important issues in the development of economic relations between countries to provide appropriate mechanisms for carrying out financial and commercial exchanges and emphasized the necessity of using alternative methods in the conditions of financial restrictions.

Referring to the limitations in the use of the dollar-based financial system, he said: for the continuation of bilateral trade, countries must have appropriate mechanisms for payment and settlement of their exchanges. In a situation where the use of conventional methods is limited, it is necessary to consider alternative methods so that trade between countries does not face obstacles.

Hemmati's speech about economic and political issues

Referring to the two speeches of Abdul Nasser Hemmati, the Governor of the Central Bank, in the meeting, Keshiri said: His speech received the attention of the attendees, and some of the participants also expressed positive views about the topics raised and benefited from the content of the speech.

Referring to the main points of this speech, he stated: The topics presented had two parts; The first part was dedicated to technical issues related to the International Monetary Fund and economic issues of concern to the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the second part included Iran's positions in the political and economic fields, including recent political developments.

Keshiri further emphasized the importance of examining the role of international economic institutions in supporting countries in war and crisis situations, referring to one of the themes raised in Hemti's speech.

He said: "One of the important issues is whether the role of the International Monetary Fund and other international economic institutions is limited only to the conditions of peace, or whether these institutions can play a role in the path of sustainable development and strengthening the economy of countries in the conditions of war and crisis."

He added: "The role of international economic institutions should not be limited to the formulation of laws and regulations or the expression of general slogans, but it is necessary to design and implement practical programs and mechanisms so that they can help the economy of different countries."

According to Keshiri, the discussion about the role of the International Monetary Fund and other international financial institutions should go beyond the general goals and examine the implementation strategies to strengthen the economies of countries, support sustainable development and respond to economic needs in crisis situations.
