Jenna Ortega attended the presentation of Klara and the Sun in London; Taika Waititi's new sci-fi film, which is an adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's best-selling novel, is finally coming to theaters after a long wait. In this work, Ortega plays the role of an artificial friend who wants to find a home for himself and change the life of a teenage girl.

Jenna Ortega, who has become one of the well-known faces of Hollywood in recent years by playing roles in horror and gothic works, especially the Wednesday series, appeared this time at the Klara and the Sun movie presentation ceremony with a different look. The film is going to experience its first major screening at the 70th London Film Festival; The event is scheduled for October 15 at the Royal Festival Hall.

Klara and the Sun is an adaptation of the acclaimed novel by Nobel Prize-winning author Kazuo Ishiguro. The story is about Clara played by Jenna Ortega; An artificial friend or robot with the ability to understand and react to human emotions that looks at the world with hope and curiosity. Clara is chosen to be the companion and friend of a teenage girl named Josie, played by Mia Taria, and bring more joy to her life.

However, the situation is not so simple. Josie has a complicated relationship with her mother, played by Amy Adams, and the family also struggles with loss and emotional problems. Clara is trying to help this family with her loyalty and optimistic outlook; While the film raises questions about feelings, being human and the possibility of forming emotional bonds between humans and artificial beings.

This adaptation was directed and written by Taika Waititi. Waititi, who is best known for his comedies and movies like Jojo Rabbit, has gone for a quieter and more emotional story in this project. He previously talked about the difficulty of making this film and said that initial attempts to add comedy elements to the script did not have the desired result. According to him, Clara has a character very different from Ortega's known roles and this film provides an opportunity to show another side of her acting abilities.

Along with Ortega and Adams, actors such as Steve Buscemi, Natasha Lyonne, Simon Baker and Arran Murphy are also present in the film. The soundtrack of the work was made by Michael Giacchino; A composer who previously collaborated with Waititi in various film projects. After years of waiting, Klara and the Sun gives Jenna Ortega a chance to appear in a different role than the creepy and mysterious characters that audiences remember her from.

The movie Klara and the Sun will be released in American theaters on October 23, 2026 (November 1, 1405).
