Gavin Williams and Tyler Glasnow Selected for Games 3 and 4 of the ALCS and NLCS.
Gavin Williams hit 24 home runs this season, but his heavy workload could limit him in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy, Jackson Chorio and others react to Dodgers' 3-0 NLCS win
Brewers manager Jackson Corio, Jake Bowers, Garrett Mitchell and Pat Murphy spoke after the game about Milwaukee's Game 3 win over the Dodgers, taking a 3-0 NLCS lead and one win away from the World Series.
Today we have two games in baseball, both the American League Championship Series and the National League Championship Series. It was a bloodbath for me because I believed too much in the Dodgers and not nearly enough in the Brewers. I played in Rays vs. Guardians 2 won. Their game starts very early today, but I will share one game in both games.
Tampa enters this game after winning Game 2 and tying the series. They now have to face a Guardians team that is just 1-2 at home this season. They lost their lead in Game 1 and now they need to get it back. Griffin Jax is going for the Rays and he has played a role for the Rays this season. He has a 3.53 ERA and 1.18 WHIP this year. In his one postseason outing, he went two innings and allowed just one earned run. He hasn't faced keepers this year, but has held them to 14 hits in 61 at-bats. Jose Ramirez has been solid against him with 5 hits in 17 at bats. Steven Cowan, on the other hand, went 0-for-10 with three strikeouts.
The Rangers broke their bats in Game 1, but couldn't get anything going in Game 2. They had a chance to equalize. It was late, but they couldn't do it. They scored their only run on Chase Dilater's double to right field. That hit put a run on the screen, but they couldn't hit anyone else. Gavin Williams starts here, making his fourth appearance of the postseason. Williams is a power pitcher and was second in strikeouts in the majors. In three appearances this season, he has struck out 24 batters in 11.2 innings. He faced the Rays earlier this year and allowed five hits and one unearned run over 7.2 innings. He struck out nine batters in that game.
Williams is a very good pitcher and has had a lot of hits this postseason. However, with the number of pitches he's thrown this season (210) and the workload he's had, I don't see him coming into this game. I like shots under 6.5. The Rays have just 32 hits this season after five playoff games. These reasons combine to give me a play on Williams under 6.5.

Los Angeles is on the brink of complete collapse. Last season they beat the Bears and this season it looks like Milwaukee will return the favor. What has to be even more frustrating for Los Angeles is that they have scored in two of the first three games and have led in each. The Brewers see the Dodgers score and immediately get their runs back and then some. The Dodgers have to find some of their hitting has been awful with runners in scoring position.
The Brewers haven't decided who will pitch for them, but honestly, it doesn't matter because the Dodgers haven't hit anyone anyway. Tyler Glasnow will go for the Brewers, and Glasnow went 4.2 innings against Atlanta and allowed one hit. In the postseason, the starters don't get into games much. Last night, Dave Roberts left Blake Snell for a long time, even though Snell was being traded. The game cost the Dodgers.
The Brewers stole Game 3 on the Dodgers' home turf to go up 3-0 and push Los Angeles to the brink of elimination.
I expect Roberts to land a quick hook and kill Glasno early. I get under 14.5 August registered from him. I also have William Contreras hitting under 0.5 in the game. He hits really well, but Glasnow has been great against him in the past.
