CBS: It will take years to rebuild the stockpile of American interceptor missiles

In a report, CBS news channel pointed out that America's stockpile of Patriot and Thad interceptor missiles has faced a severe shortage due to the transfer of weapons to Ukraine, use for the defense of the Zionist regime and widespread use in conflicts in the Middle East, and wrote: Rebuilding the stockpile of American interceptor missiles may take years.

In a report, CBS news channel pointed out that American Patriot and THAAD interceptor missile reserves have faced a severe shortage following the transfer of weapons to Ukraine, use to defend the Zionist regime, and widespread use in conflicts in the Middle East, and wrote: Rebuilding the American interceptor missile reserves may take years.

According to Ambassador Arjan, in a CBS report, it is stated that "Randy George", the former chief of staff of the American terrorist army, warned about the shortage of missile defense ammunition of the United States in late December last year (2025) and about two months before the start of the joint military aggression of the United States and the Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran and assessed that the reserves of Patriot and Tad missiles of the United States will remain at a level lower than the level required to ensure military readiness until 2030.

According to this report, the transfer of Patriot missiles to Ukraine after the start of the war in this country in 2022, the consumption of ammunition to defend the Zionist regime, and the limitation of the production capacity of the American defense industry have been among the factors of reducing reserves.

Referring to the estimate of the American Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), this report adds: Before the start of the war against Iran, the United States had about 2,300 Patriot interceptor missiles, and during the war, it has used between 1,500 and 1,430, i.e., about 46 to 62 percent (from about half to two thirds) of them.

In the continuation of the CBS report, stating that about 82% of the reserves of American THAAD interceptor missiles have been consumed in the conflicts in the Middle East, it is stated: According to the estimates of the American Center for Strategic and International Studies, the delivery of new orders for THAAD interceptors takes an average of four years and five months, and the delivery of Patriot missiles takes about three and a half years.

According to the report, it could take until 2030 to restore the US stockpile to the level it had in December 2025, even if most of these missiles were not used in the Middle East or other conflicts.

According to Ambassador Arjan, American media had previously reported that the US government plans to increase the role of automobile companies in the production of weapons and military equipment. In this regard, companies such as General Motors and Ford have been asked to expand their industrial capacities to produce military items.

This action is proposed in a situation where the continuation of conflicts in Ukraine and military tensions with Iran have put pressure on the US weapons stockpile and highlighted the need for a rapid increase in defense production.

Pentagon officials have announced that they are considering using the capacity of factories and manpower of civilian industries to increase the production of ammunition and military equipment.

According to them, this approach means putting the industry in a state of war readiness. The US Department of Defense has emphasized that the purpose of this program is the rapid development of the military industrial base in order to maintain the military superiority of this country.
