Hillary Clinton and Cara Sweisher launch the political podcast "High Stakes"

The partnership with Vox Media begins October 14 to draw a wave of election-related interest, with future collaborations anticipated.

Hillary Rodham Clinton and Cara Swisher launch their own political podcast just in time for the US midterm elections.

The former US Secretary of State and veteran digital journalist unveiled plans for High Stakes in partnership with Vox Media to debut on October 14 as the third episode of On With Kara Swisher, a podcast for New York Magazine. The two will debate key policy issues such as cost of living, health care and technology ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections, with opposing sides among those debating.

Clinton said of her partnership, "I don't think the stakes for our country and the world have ever been higher than in November. People are hungry for a real conversation about what's happening in our democracy and what it will mean for their families, and I can't think of a better partner for that than Cara. There will be discussions, debates, and hopefully lots of laughs."

Future collaborations between Clinton, Swisher and Vox Media are anticipated. This follows Swisher's recent announcement that he will be leaving CNN after Paramount Skydance completes its deal to buy Warner Bros. Discovery and renew its contract later this year.

"I am very proud to bring Secretary Clinton — a champion for millions who has had a profound impact on making the world a better place — to Vox Media," said Jim Bankoff, co-founder and CEO, in a statement. He and Cara are forces of nature and have an undeniable combination as hosts.

In August 2026, Clinton hosted Pivot's podcast, Swisher with Scott Galloway. "Think of this series as Pivot, but with a real expert as my co-host. He's a global icon, he doesn't hold back, and he brings valuable perspective to the audience," Swisher said in a statement.

In addition to her long political career, Clinton is also an author of books such as It Takes A Village (1996) and the memoir Living History (2003), Hard Choices (2014) and What Happened (2017). He also hosted the podcast You and Me Both with Hillary Clinton for iHeart Radio in 2023.

In addition to being a podcast pioneer, Swisher also wrote his memoir Burn Book: A Tech Love and was named to The Hollywood Reporter's list of podcast power players. She co-hosted the original six-part series Kara Swisher Wants to Live Forever with CNN and does live tours and events.

As a podcast network, Vox Media also hosts Criminal with Phoebe Judge, Today Explained with Sean Ramswaram and Noel King, Where Should We Begin? with Esther Pearl, Bird's Eye View with Sue Bird, Stay Tuned with Preet and Waveform with Marques Brownlee
