Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Last Year's World Series MVP, Pitches for Dodgers in NLCS Game 2 After Milwaukee Gains Home-Field Advantage

Jacob Misiorowski reacts to the Brewers' Game 1 win over the Dodgers in the NLCS

Jacob Misiorowski reacts to the Milwaukee Brewers' win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the National League Series.

There are many people who say that this series is, for all intents and purposes, the World Series. I'm sure most of them think whoever runs away with the National League Championship Series will end up as the winner.

I'm not entirely sure I fit that description. I think it's possible that the Rays, and maybe to a lesser extent the Guardians, can beat any of these teams, but the NL will likely be the favorite in the World Series.

The Los Angeles Dodgers reached the postseason by becoming one of the best teams in baseball and winning the National League West. They built their team by adding pieces each year. This offseason, they added a closer and the best hitter available. During the offseason, they added Tarik Escobal, the best pitcher prospect on the planet, and he pitched yesterday. The Dodgers have won two straight World Series and are looking for a third.

They have a great chance to win tonight considering they are fielding last year's World Series MVP.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto seems to be one of the best shooters of the next season. This year he made one start, went 1-0, allowed 4 hits and 1 earned run over 7 innings. He struck out 10 in a 3-1 win for the Dodgers. Since joining the Dodgers, he has appeared in 11 postseason games and the Dodgers have won 10. He has allowed 15 runs in 63 innings.

The Los Angeles Dodgers returned to the NLCS for the third straight season after defeating the Atlanta Braves.

The Milwaukee Brewers have gotten this far without the big addition the Dodgers are getting. They are a strong team to actually walk the players who made major contributions. It didn't matter; They just keep winning

This year the team is more confident. Players look poised and locked in. Does this mean they can finally beat the Dodgers? It's hard to say nobody really matches up well with the Dodgers, but the Brewers have home field advantage, solid hitting, and a good pitching staff.

The Brewers send their second best arm to the mound today. Logan Henderson catches the ball and went 11-3 with a 2.47 ERA and 0.84 WHIP in the regular season. He pitched against the Padres, allowing one earned run on two hits and three walks over five innings. He faced the Dodgers twice this year, allowing just one earned run on five hits in 12 innings of work. He also struck out 13 batters in these two games.

In Game 1, the Dodgers struck first, but despite hitting the ball well and putting runners on base, they couldn't score more than one run. The Brewers tied the game at one home run. Then later they walked, buckled up and went home.

That was all the points in the game and Milwaukee won in the first game. I was actually encouraged by the Dodgers' bats - they didn't get the hits when they needed to, but they had traffic on the bases and didn't rely entirely on homers. With Yamamoto on the mound, I'm taking the Dodgers tonight.
