Rainfall Expected to Increase in Ilam Province
Ilam – The Director-General of Meteorology in Ilam said rainfall is expected to increase across the province.
Referring to the El Nino phenomenon, Siros Naderi said in a conversation with Mehr reporter: This phenomenon occurs in the center and east of the Pacific Ocean, which is thousands of kilometers away from our country.
He added: In this phenomenon, the water temperature of parts of the Pacific Ocean increases abnormally, and this increase causes changes in humidity, wind direction and cloudiness on the surface of the earth.
Naderi stated: Although this phenomenon does not occur in the Middle East, its effects on the precipitation of Ilam province appear in the form of an increase in rain.
He pointed out: On the one hand, this phenomenon can be an opportunity to increase water and running water reserves, and on the other hand, it is considered a threat to the occurrence of destructive floods, especially in the foothills.
