Cal interviews the wrong Viking Sports Talk with Cal McCallister Ep. 5
Cal thought he was interviewing a musician from the Minnesota Vikings, but thanks to Judy's spectacular misunderstanding, he ended up on the phone with Johan Grendelson, guitarist for a Viking-themed heavy metal band called Jörmungadr.

Mid-October hump day, and it's a big day.
We have postseason baseball tonight. Tonight we have college football. I hear a big cold front is heading south for the first time this fall.
Of course, it will stop in Florida as always, but I'm happy for the rest. You all deserve it. It was a long and hot summer. Nothing like that first real cold front of fall. When I was in Boston a decade ago, this was my favorite part of living in Boston.

You can just smell it. You can feel it. The first pleasant morning of autumn? This is the best. We have to wait another month for our month, but I know it's close.
We're close, people, soak it all in. The best time of the year.
Welcome to a 24/7 capsule - where Sidney Sweeney avoids Powerade marketers because people strangely think she's a naked gambler. The ad is a shot at women's sports.
For the life of me, I still don't understand that one. But, the same angry mob is also mad at Shane Gillis today for making a joke on "Saturday NIGHT LIVE."
There is just no help for these people. Even trying is futile.
Comedian Tim Dillon hits out at Sidney Sweeney's critics who are upset about the steamy ad: “How crazy is that? '
What else do you want to talk about? I have a high school coach in Oregon who was drafted by him for raising his score. Wait and see what he did!
Also, MLB fans are mad at the league for pushing tomorrow's ALCS game to five hours, and while we're on the subject of Sidney Swinney's nude commercials, I'd like to ask the class about commercials on the way out.
Grab your favorite dessert for National Dessert Day and wear a hump day hat!

Powerhead dips its toe into Sidney Sweeney's drama
One easy foot of key lime. Maybe it's the Florida guy in me, but nothing beats a solid piece of key lime pie. And yes, one from Publix totally counts as a solid piece.
A few months ago I received an email from a reader chastising me for saying Publix key lime pies were elite, and that was just bullshit. If you really think so, you obviously have never had one. They will change your life. trust me
And that's the end of the cooking part of today's class.
Now let's grab a pint of Powerade to wash it down, and check in with the ongoing drama surrounding Sidney Sweeney's provocative ad:
So Powerid is apparently at war with Sidney Sweeney and Novig because, as you can see, they took Sweeney's nearly nude gambling ad as a target for women's sports.
They have a brand new ad campaign called Never Just Sports right next to Novig and it's just a bunch of female athletes doing sports. And that's good. There is nothing wrong with advertising. It makes sense.
Sydney Sweeney posed nude for her latest campaign, a move that sparked controversy among athletes and pundits alike. (The Stewart of NY)
Sweeney's campaign has nothing to do with women's sports. nothing Nada They are not connected at all. His ad is for a gambling company and it is for men. It's literally about betting on sports, which is why it's aptly named Just Sports.
Of course the left took this completely out of context because most things fly over their heads and instead saw it as Sweeney somehow demeaning women's sports.
It doesn't make sense. It never makes sense. They're trying to create a narrative that simply doesn't exist, which is funny because that's what they're accusing us of doing with the whole transgender athlete thing.
Everything is stupid. Powerad's answer is of course stupid. But, we live in really crazy times right now.
Speaking of silly things, let's go to Oregon and check out the Marist Catholic high school football team:
MLB Moves and Will Ads Get Out of Control?
Wow Nelly! This onside kick rivals Sean Payton's infamous kick in the 2009 Super Bowl. stunning Nobody saw it coming, considering a) it was the second quarter, and b) the score was 57-0.
With boots on the ground, the game was stopped at halftime and never resumed. The game was so terrible, they just...stopped the game completely. The coach was fired the next day.
fair or foul? I think the shot, on the surface, is a bit much. But, as is usually the case with these things, I imagine there's a bit more meat on this bone. There has to be more to the story, right? You don't just fire a coach because he called a 57-0 onside kick.
Was it bad taste? No argument from me of course but I also once played for a coach who warned us before the game to "give them some good old country" or we'd spend the whole next morning running up the stairs, so I've seen worse.
Well, let's make this Hump Day class a big Hump Day night. first? Sleep, Indians fans - you guys play at 1pm. Tomorrow!
Let's check out the comments to see how Tribe fans are handling the news!
I'm really sick to my stomach right now. Why up the game and not back down? Take it back a day. It doesn't make sense that these should be night games. what do we do
Everyone laughs that the Rays were so "empty" last night, under a dome, then they drag you out of a 6pm-1pm game.
