International Conference on Advanced Materials in Industry and the Fourth KitoNext Kerman Motor Event

The fourth KitoNext Kerman Motor event and the third International Conference on Advanced Materials Application and Manufacturing in Industry will be held on Azar 22 and 23 at Iran University of Science and Technology.

The third international conference on the use of materials and advanced manufacturing in industries and the fourth Kerman Motor Innovation and Technology Opportunities event (KitoNext) will be held on December 22 and 23 at Iran University of Science and Technology with a different structure. An event that, in addition to the scientific and international part of the conference, is designed with the aim of creating a more effective link between the scientific and research capacities of the country, technology and the real needs of the automobile industry. In addition to these two sections, a 72-hour problem-based competition for academic groups and a series of scientific, technological and industrial programs are also on the agenda.

Abolfazl Khalkhali, Secretary of the International Conference on the Application of Materials and Advanced Manufacturing in Industries and a member of the Faculty of Automotive Engineering of the Iran University of Science and Technology, said about the formation of this joint event: Kitoncast Kerman Motor was formed from the beginning with an industrial and problem-oriented approach, and its purpose was to establish a connection between the real needs of the industry and the technological and innovation capacities of universities and technological companies. On the other hand, the international conference on the use of materials and advanced manufacturing in industries has a scientific and research nature and is a platform for presenting scientific achievements and exchanging knowledge among researchers and specialists in this field.

He added: In fact, we felt that the link that can connect these two spaces is a more effective connection between scientific achievements and the real needs of the industry. For this reason, we decided to hold Kerman Motor's fourth KitoNext and the third international conference together. Abolfazl Khalkhali, Vice President of Kerman Motor's Product Development, emphasized: This is not just the coincidence of two events, but we are trying to create a common space for the dialogue between science and industry; A space where, on one hand, the latest scientific and research achievements are presented, and on the other hand, the real issues and needs of the industry are exposed to the academic and technological community.

Referring to the difference in the nature of the two events, Khalkhali said: KitoNext is an industrial and technological event, and the International Conference on the Application of Materials and Advanced Manufacturing in Industries is a scientific and research event. Instead of these two spaces moving separately from each other, we decided to put them together so that the connection between science, technology and industry takes a deeper form. He added: Actually, the goal is not to change the identity of KitoNext or the conference; Each has its own place and audience. The important thing is that the audience of these two events get a chance to interact with each other and use each other's capacities.

Opening ceremony, scientific meetings and specialized panels

The main programs of the event will start from the morning of December 22 with the opening ceremony. In this event, the secretary of the conference, university officials, national officials and industrial officials will give speeches, and scientific and industrial key speeches will also be presented.

Khalkhali, a member of the Faculty of Automotive Engineering of Iran University of Science and Technology, said about the opening program: "We have tried to make the opening not just a ceremonial event, and in it, scientific, industrial, and policy-making points of view will come together in order to present a clear picture of the importance of advanced materials, new manufacturing technologies and their role in the future of the industry. On the evening of December 22, parallel meetings will be held to present selected scientific articles." At the same time, three specialized panels focusing on the technological needs of Kerman Motor will also be held.

Referring to the importance of these panels, Abolfazl Khalkhali, vice president of Kerman Motor's product development, said: "It is very important for us that the connection between industry and university goes beyond the general level and reaches specific issues." In these panels, we try to raise some of the technological needs and real challenges of the industry so that experts, researchers and technological companies can get to know them.

He continued: This interaction can be a basis for identifying new capabilities and the formation of further cooperation between Kerman Motor and the scientific and technological complexes of the country, which started from the Kitoncast events in the past years.

72-hour problem-oriented competition; Turning students into problem solvers

One of the special parts of this course is the 72-hour problem-based competition, which will be held with the participation of university groups. This competition will be held online and the participants will work on defined problems and present their solutions within 72 hours. Khalkhali explained about the design of this competition: One of our goals is to turn students and university groups from mere audience to problem solvers. In the problem-based competition, teams face a specific challenge and must develop and present their solution within a limited time frame.

In the end, Abolfazl Khalkhali said: The industry needs new knowledge and technologies to develop the product, and the university and the technology ecosystem need to be connected with the real issues of the industry to be more effective. This event can be one of the connecting points of these two needs.

He added: We hope that the third international conference on the use of advanced materials and manufacturing in industries and the fourth Kitoncast Kerman Motor event, in addition to presenting scientific and technological achievements, will provide a platform for the formation of new connections between the university, technological companies and the automotive industry, and part of these connections will lead to real cooperation and the development of new products and technologies.
