Todd Gurley flew with President Donald Trump aboard Air Force One to a rally in Dalton, Georgia, continuing the pattern of Bulldogs in Trump's orbit.

Watch live: President Trump's remarks at the Georgia rally

As President Trump delivers remarks at a rally in Dalton, all eyes will be on Georgia, with the midterm elections just weeks away.

President Donald Trump is bringing some serious SEC powers to Georgia. Former Georgia Bulldogs superstar and NFL All Pro champion Todd Gurley boarded Air Force One with Trump on Friday as the president headed to Dalton for a campaign rally ahead of November's midterm elections.

Not a bad upgrade from his private jet days in the NFL.

Gurley, in case you forgot, was an absolute monster at Georgia. He rushed for 3,285 yards and 36 touchdowns in three seasons before being the 10th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. In 2017, he was a three-time All-Pro Player and NFL Offensive Player of the Year with the Los Angeles Rams.

And he's hardly the first bulldog to find himself in Trump's orbit.

Incumbent Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton appeared alongside Trump at a February rally in Rome, Georgia, where the president shouted him down on stage.

Then there's Georgia legend Herschel Walker, whom Trump endorsed in his unsuccessful 2022 Senate campaign against Democrat Raphael Warnock. Walker eventually landed a different gig, courtesy of Trump: U.S. ambassador to the Bahamas.

Friday's rally will be Trump's third trip to Georgia this year, with Republican Senate candidate Mike Collins and gubernatorial candidate Rick Jackson joining the president as Republicans look to energize voters ahead of the Nov. 3 election day.

I will say that it is refreshing to see so many former and current professional athletes who are not afraid to support President Trump and the Republican Party. As Clay Travis at X said in response to the news, "Many professional athletes have been oblivious to the anti-Trump bulls***. Good for Todd Gurley." This is true. Many athletes have been afraid of silence for years. But not anymore.

Gurley energized the crowd with his electric play while at Georgia, so it will be interesting to see what he can do behind the podium.
