Mady Ziegler Gets Stuck in a Christmas Time Loop in the Trailer for Netflix's 'In A Holidaze'

The upcoming holiday film is based on a novel by popular romance author Christina Lauren.

Maddie Ziegler is stuck on a vacation in her upcoming Netflix movie. Based on the romance novel of the same name, the streamer released the first trailer for the holiday romance Thursday morning.

The trailer begins as Mae Ziegler frantically asks family friend Benny, played by a sleepy Rob Lowe, for help after her big mistake - kissing the wrong brother between Andrew Graham Phillips and Theo Elias Kakavas. "How did you kiss the wrong brother? I always thought it was Andrew?" Lu asks the actor and dancer. "It's Andrew," she replies. "I waited a year to finally tell him how I really felt and instead I kissed Theo and ruined Christmas."

Netflix TV executives Lisa Lang McMullen, James Oh, Carolina Garcia and Andrew McQueen are among those fired.

Tiffany Paulsen is the writer and director of the film. "After making a romantic blunder of epic proportions, a directionless twenty-something finds himself caught in a holiday time loop, forced to relive the same Christmas at his family's cabin until he discovers what truly makes him happy," reads the logline.

During the two-minute trailer, Mae Ziegler explains her current situation: she's an "emotional wreck" after her parents, played by Patton Oswalt and Jackie Sandler, divorce, and this is the last Christmas she and her chosen holiday family will spend in their cozy cabin. With the cabin she loves in danger of being sold, an accident apparently puts Mae in a Christmas time loop, forcing her to relive the holiday over and over again until she can free herself.

In A Holidaze will be the first screen adaptation of the popular romance novelist Christina Lauren, pen name for writers Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings. The pair are a staple in the contemporary romance scene and have other projects in development, including an adaptation of the 2018 novel Love and Other Words from newly formed Magic Hour Entertainment.

Andrea Anders, Gil Bellows, Christopher Shire, Summer Salem, Luke Rosier and Meredith Salinger are the actors of this movie. Leslie Morgenstein and Elisa Koplowitz are producing, with Dutton Billings, Galen Fletcher and Lowe serving as executive producers.

In A Holidaze premieres December 2nd exclusively on Netflix. Watch the trailer below.
