Two provinces should donate more blood in the second half of the year

The CEO of Iran Blood Transfusion Organization said: Considering the usual decrease in blood donation in the second half of the year, there is a need for people, especially the people of Tehran and Sistan and Baluchestan, to have more referrals for blood donation.

According to Ambassador Arjan's report, quoted by Khane Mellat, Ahmad Qarabaghian said about the state of the country's blood reserves: Currently, the blood reserves are in a favorable condition, but the stable supply of blood and blood products needed by hospitals and medical centers across the country depends on the continuous and daily participation of donors throughout the year.

Stating that the amount of blood donation usually decreases in the second half of the year, he added: the change in weather conditions, shortening of days and the reopening of schools and educational centers are among the factors that affect the number of volunteers, so it is necessary for people, especially the people of Tehran and Sistan and Baluchistan, to visit blood donation centers more in order to maintain adequate reserves.

Qarabaghian stated: The goal of the blood transfusion organization is to provide the products in an adequate and necessary form to the patients, and the existence of sufficient and stable blood reserves is necessary to meet the needs of medical centers so that no patient faces a delay in surgery or receiving medical services due to lack of blood.

He reminded: "If we face a possible war, a crisis committee will be formed and necessary plans will be made so that we do not face any problems with blood supply."

The CEO of Iran Blood Transfusion Organization also announced cooperation with universities of medical sciences and medical centers to facilitate the blood donation process and said: these cooperations have had good results in crises and efforts are being made to expand them nationwide.

He explained: By using the capacity of doctors, nurses and other forces of medical sciences universities, it is possible to carry out part of the blood donation process, including medical examination, registration of donor information and blood collection in medical centers and use the available facilities and human resources to facilitate this process.

Qarabaghian stressed the importance of continuous blood donation throughout the year and called for people's participation to maintain stable reserves and meet the needs of patients.
