Steam's big picture mode just got a big visual overhaul that puts the game's art in the spotlight, and my living room setting has never looked better.
The new mode comes out of beta with the latest version of the Steam client. If you are all up to date, you can enable it in large image mode. Just go to settings and then home screen. This mode is called Big Art Mode.
The new Big Art mode puts a huge, full version of the game's key art behind the regular big art icon.
The new mode offers amazing visual changes.
The update is also mentioned in the Steam Deck update notes.
My mini computer lives in big picture mode. This is the closest thing to using SteamOS without actually installing SteamOS. Nothing against the OS - I just play some games that are not suitable for Linux. My PC is connected to my TV in the living room, and whenever I boot it up, I just have to grab my Steam controller, double-tap the Steam button, and choose which game to play—all without touching the keyboard.
The new Big Art mode is much more suitable for this relaxed gaming experience. Larger images, less user interface, and more attractive atmosphere. Beautiful view on a large OLED TV.
