Is America Seeking to Seize Iran's Energy Resources?

The Executive Deputy to the President said Donald Trump seeks to control Iran's oil and energy resources, modeling the approach on Venezuela.

On Wednesday, October 22nd, on the second day of the government's provincial visit to East Azarbaijan, Mohammad Jaafar Qaimpanah, in a meeting with academics of the province held at the Governorate of East Azarbaijan in Tabriz, pointed to the slogan of the Islamic Revolution and stated: The slogan of the revolution is independence, freedom and the Islamic Republic, and Iran is an independent country in the true sense of the word and no foreign power is involved in the administration of the country's affairs.

Referring to the role of the people in determining the country's political destiny, he added: unlike some countries where America plays a role in choosing officials and determining their political governance and decisions are made even before the elections, in Iran elections are held by the people's vote and based on legal processes.

He pointed to the election of Masoud Mezikian as the president by the people's vote, and considered this as a sign of the political independence of the Islamic Republic of Iran and said that no foreign political or military power played a role in the election of the president of Iran.

Ghaempanah stated that since the beginning of the revolution, specific values and criteria have been of interest, and stated: These values have had ups and downs over time and there are different views about them.

He continued: There are different interpretations of religious values and the amount of freedoms in society, and intellectual pluralism is an accepted thing in the country, but independence, freedom and sovereignty of Islamic values are among the principles on which the country is governed.

America does not reflect Iran's independence

Referring to what he called America's attempt to infiltrate and interfere in Iran's affairs, he said: America has clearly announced that it seeks to interfere with Iran's oil and gas resources.

Referring to Donald Trump's statements about Khark Island and Iran's energy resources, the executive vice president added: America is seeking to take control of Iran's energy resources, as it did in Venezuela; In addition, America also controls the oil resources of some Persian Gulf countries.

Referring to the state of Iran's oil revenues before the Islamic Revolution, he said: By studying history, we can find out how much of the country's oil resources income was returned to the country before the revolution and how much of it was not returned to the country.

Stating that the United States does not respect Iran's independence, he said: Iran and the United States have been fighting each other for 47 years over the independence and freedom that the people of Iran have achieved, and the United States has entered into a war with Iran over these achievements.

In another part of his speech, in response to the claims about Iran's nuclear program, Qaim Panah emphasized the peacefulness of the country's nuclear activities and stated: Iran is not seeking to acquire nuclear weapons and the country's nuclear activities are carried out with the aim of developing scientific knowledge and peaceful applications, including in industries, medicine and pharmaceuticals.

He added: Iran has the necessary knowledge and scientific ability to manage and exploit nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
