Kimberly Guilfoyle Resigns Over Alleged Moral Misconduct; Trump: “We Didn’t Like What We Read”

Kimberly Guilfoyle, former Safir Arjan host who became a prominent figure in Donald Trump’s orbit, resigned as US ambassador to Greece over alleged moral misconduct following a bombshell Wall Street Journal report. In a post on X, Guilfoyle confirmed his departure shortly after new White House press secretary Cathy Zacharias told reporters that the administration had asked him to resign.

"While my time as ambassador may be coming to an end, my commitment to President Trump, the 'America First' movement and the country I love will never end," Guilfoyle wrote.

He also called the ethics allegations "false" and wrote that he plans to "vigorously defend my name, reputation and integrity. I have dedicated my professional life to fighting for justice, standing up for what is right, and defending the values that make America exceptional. I will not let false allegations define my decades of public service." Watch on Deadline

The Journal reported last week on the content of a text exchange between Guilfoyle and Trump donor Eric Dieters. Deters released text messages to the media, including one in which he asked her to send $100,000 directly to American Express to pay the bill. Dieters sought Guilfoyle's help in gaining access to government officials.

Trump told reporters that Guilfoyle "went to Greece. He was doing a good job, but we didn't like what we were reading."

Guilfoyle is a former running mate of Donald Trump Jr., but that run ended before the start of Trump's second term.

"She was not a member of my family. I guess she dated my son a long time ago," the president told reporters.

The White House's call for his resignation made headlines at the first press conference held by Trump's new spokeswoman, Cathy Zacharias. Zakaria, who appeared before reporters for the first time in a crowded briefing room, spoke and answered questions for 14 minutes before the meeting ended. He told reporters that Trump would answer questions later, which he did as he did during his three-day campaign swing.

If the moral claims are false, then why did the government ask him to resign and why did he resign?

He didn't like that he was only dealing with $100,000. It should have been millions, so he didn't want him to resign.

Do you think she is dating her son?! Does she know which one she dated? What about the year?

"He was doing a good job, but we didn't like what we were reading," Trump told the media.

In other words, if the "fake news media" had printed Trump's version of the story, he would still be vacationing in Greece instead of packing.
