The 2027 Hyundai Bayon has been unveiled at the Paris Motor Show with a rugged and redesigned look inspired by the Tucson and the introduction of a hybrid engine, and will be launched in early 2027.

Hyundai introduced its Bayon small crossover with fundamental changes in design and technical specifications. This car, which was present in the market since 2021, is now back with the aim of more serious competition in the segment of small urban crossovers. Its new design is inspired by the "Art of Steel" design language of Tucson 2024, which has given a more powerful effect to this model.

Aggressive design inspired by Tucson

The radical transformation in design has given the 2027 Hyundai Bayon a more powerful presence on the streets. The new model is clearly influenced by the Hyundai Tucson, with hockey stick-shaped Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and a high hood line. For the first time in the 2027 Bayonet, the "N Line" sports trim includes a sports body kit, 18-inch wheels and exclusive interior details.

With a slight increase of 2 cm in the wheelbase to 2,600 mm (102.4 in), the interior is more spacious. The features that can be ordered in this car include two 12.3-inch screens, 360-degree parking cameras, ventilated seats and a panoramic roof. A Digital Key 2 system for opening and starting the car with a mobile phone, and a Bose premium audio system are also available. The Bion has retained the physical buttons on the center console.

Hybrid engine for the first time in Bayon 2027

The Hyundai Bion still comes with a front-wheel drive (FWD) system and does not have an all-wheel drive option. The base engine is a 1.0-liter four-cylinder T-GDI engine with 89 horsepower, which can be selected with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. A more powerful version with 114 hp is also available.

The most important change in this model is the introduction of a full hybrid engine for the first time. This 1.6-liter HEV engine produces 136 horsepower and comes only with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The amount of brake energy recovery can also be adjusted through the pedals behind the steering wheel. Hyundai has confirmed that the hybrid hardware will reduce trunk space slightly.

The release of this model will begin in early 2027 and first in the European markets. "Hyundai Bayon" is not available for the American market; Where the Kona model remains the smallest Hyundai crossover option.
