Mashhad - The nurse of the cancer department of Mashhad Children's Hospital, criticizing the high work pressure and insufficient benefits compared to the efforts of this profession, said that love for children is the only reason to stay in this job.

In a conversation with Mehr reporter, Fateme Farmanesh told the story of her entry into this profession and stated: I chose this field because I was familiar with the field of nursing and because she was a relative of a nurse.

This nurse of the cancer department of Mashhad Children's Hospital, pointing out that she has been working in Neishabur since she was a student, i.e. since 1987, added: The first day of entering the hospital was a good experience and because I was already familiar with the work environment, this familiarity was already there. The first year, when our project fell into the field of children, it was such a coincidence and the desire of our hearts that we stayed in this department.

Emphasizing that he does not recommend anyone to enter the nursing profession at the moment, he said: "Compared to the effort we put in, the benefits of this profession are much less than what we do, and due to the work pressure, I do not recommend this field to anyone."

Most of its patients are children with cancer, said Farmanesh: "When you enter this hospital, everything is difficult, but when the patients get better, it remains a memory for us."

This nurse of the cancer department of Mashhad Children's Hospital mentioned a memory from this department and said: "Not long ago, a teenage girl was hospitalized with a very bad condition, and we all gave up hope of her recovery, but thank God, she got better." This teenager made us happy instead of us making him happy; He wrote letters to each nurse and prepared small gifts. Finally, he was discharged in good condition and we hope he will not return to this hospital again.

In an advice to the people about the position of nurses, he said: Nursing is a very difficult field, and our only request is that people put up with us a little and don't think that we are doing more than we can do.

Farmanesh added about the long shifts and the demands of the nurses: if the work pressure is reduced, it will have a clear effect. One is disappointed when one sees that very trivial jobs such as makeup and nails have a much higher income while we studied for four years and suffered a lot; Because we earn their one day's income in one month.
