Tim Burton and Kazuo Ishiguro keyed a secret project!
Tim Burton and Nobel Prize-winning author Kazuo Ishiguro are collaborating on a secret project.
According to Ambassador Arjan's report, quoted by Deadline, since the production of the third season of "Chershanbe" series has just ended, Tim Burton seems to be looking for his next project. His next project is said to be an untitled feature film to be made in collaboration with Nobel Prize-winning writer Kazuo Ishiguro. According to sources, Burton is going to direct this film based on a script by Ishiguro.
Ishiguro confirmed this news at the red carpet ceremony of the world premiere of the film "Clara and the Sun" at the London Film Festival and in an interview with Deadline, and also added that the film is based on an original story and is not an adaptation.
He said about his "Secret" movie with Tim Burton: It's a novel thing that Tim and I put together privately without any producer. I visited him in his crazy beautiful house and we came up with an idea and I wrote the script.
The movie "Clara and the Sun" is based on the novel of the same name by Ishiguro, starring Jenna Ortega and directed by Taika Waititi. Ortega was also the star of the series "Wednesday".
As with everything else involving Burton, details of the new film's plot have been kept under wraps, though sources say it will take place in post-World War II Japan.
Since the film is technically still in development and it hasn't been confirmed as Burton's next for sure, it seems to be the project he's been focusing on the most since filming the third season of "Wednesday."
Ishiguro, best known for acclaimed novels such as "Never Let Me Go" and "Clara and the Sun," also has a background in screenwriting and recently penned the script for "Life," starring Bill Nye. Collaborating with Burton looks to be a unique collaboration that is sure to catch the eye of some A-listers.
Ishiguro's Clara and the Sun, directed by Taika Waititi, opens next week.
