Moscow, October 14. /TASS/. A source in the Air Traffic Control Service told TASS that a US-registered NATO reconnaissance aircraft spent almost four and a half hours near Russia's Kaliningrad region.
"The Bombardier Artemis II reconnaissance aircraft took off from its home base in Constanta, Romania, in the Kaliningrad region. It then circled the Russian region for nearly four and a half hours, using the airspace of Poland and Lithuania, as well as areas over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea," the source said.
According to the source, the plane was first detected this week near the Kaliningrad region. Earlier, its flight was monitored over the neutral waters of the Black Sea, where it spent seven hours flying east and west in the southern part of the sea. On Monday, the Bombardier Artemis II also flew over the center of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, turning near the Estonian coast of the Gulf of Finland.
This source noted: This plane did not approach the borders of Russia at that time, and while flying over the Black Sea, it did not enter the airspace of any coastal country except Romania, and it took off from there and then landed there. During these flights, the aircraft operates outside civil aviation routes, usually at an altitude of about 10.5 km.
