With the release of the new Samsung Health update, Samsung has simplified the conditions of use of the sleep guide feature, expanded its personalization possibilities and provided new tools for running training and connecting to the Strava platform.

Samsung Electronics has announced the release of an important update for the Samsung Health application. This version makes it easier for users to access sleep-related guidance by reducing the amount of information required to activate the Sleep Coaching feature. In addition, sleep recommendations have become more tailored to each individual's individual needs and conditions, and the options available in running training programs have also increased. Samsung has developed these changes with the aim of helping users to form healthy habits and maintain them in the long term.

Easier start sleep guide with personalized recommendations

The sleep monitoring function in Samsung Health provides information about the quality and status of users' sleep at night; However, the Sleep Coaching tool, with an approach beyond data recording, tries to establish a connection between health goals, sleep patterns, and people's daily behaviors in order to improve sleep conditions in the long term.

In the new version of this application, Samsung has changed the basic conditions of using Sleep Coaching. From now on, users need data recorded from three days over the past two weeks to start the sleep guidance process. In the previous version, seven days of sleep data collection over a one-month period was required to enable this feature.

During the setup phase, users have to answer questions about their sleep patterns, awakenings during the night, caffeine and alcohol consumption, and their level of sleep satisfaction. By combining the information from this questionnaire and the data recorded over three days, Samsung Health determines a unique symbol called "sleeping animal" for each user. Then a four- to eight-week mentoring program tailored to the individual's goals is provided to him.

The recommendations of this program do not remain constant during the period of use; Rather, Samsung updates them every week based on changes in the sleeping patterns of users. The amount of daily sleep satisfaction and the changes that people make in their lifestyle also play a role in setting these suggestions.

Based on the scientific principles of behavior and sleep, Sleep Coaching provides a list of daily actions and practical recommendations for each person and according to their progress. The goal of this approach is to make it easier to create useful habits in everyday life. For example, users can plan to turn off screens an hour before bed, avoid caffeine later in the day, and stretch outdoors after waking up.

More detailed analytical reports to check sleep quality

Samsung has also made changes in the design of Sleep Coaching reports so that users can check information about their sleep status more easily and in more detail.

One of the new features of this section is the pentagonal Sleep Balance chart, which displays five important sleep indicators in a single view. These indicators include the duration of sleep, regularity and stability of sleep time, amount of awakening during the night, satisfaction of the person with sleep and energy score.

With the help of this chart, users can evaluate their overall sleep condition at a glance and identify areas that may need correction and improvement. This assessment is based on the information registered in the application or entered by users during the use of the sleep guidance program.

In addition to this chart, the morning analytical messages also check the state of the previous night's sleep and provide practical suggestions to improve it. These messages, along with weekly reports and the final report of the course, provide the possibility of observing changes and the general trend of sleep.

By linking users' daily actions to measurable results, Samsung aims to help them better understand the impact of their behaviors, create healthier habits, and continue to stick to these patterns.

Increasing the training levels of the Running Coach and improving the running experience

With the increasing acceptance of users for running activities, Samsung has also improved the Running Coach feature. The goal of these changes is to provide a more complete and dynamic experience for people who use Samsung Health to plan and track their exercise.

In the new version, the number of Running Coach training levels has increased from 10 levels to 12 levels. This feature also adjusts a program according to each person's ability and conditions using the results of the 12-minute running test or the history of each person's running activities.

The two newly added levels are specifically designed for intermediate and advanced runners. This change allows users to choose more ambitious goals, challenge their abilities more and strive to improve their sports performance as they continue to train.

Samsung has also improved the tools for sharing sports achievements in Running Coach. Users can publish information about their workouts in ready-made social media formats and share personal records, sports achievements and running routes with friends or other members of the sports community. These facilities are provided with the aim of better recording progress and increasing motivation to continue sports activities.

Connecting Strava routes directly to Samsung Health

Samsung has also developed a partnership with Strava, the international fitness platform, in continuation of its plan to expand the connection between its ecosystem products and services.

Based on the new feature, users can transfer their selected routes from Strava directly to Samsung Health. This possibility is considered for three types of activities: running on normal paths (Running), running on natural and off-road paths (Trail Running) and cycling.

This integration was created with the aim of harmonizing the performance of the two platforms and simplifying the experience of using them. As a result, users can easily access their favorite routes in Samsung Health and use the features of this application to manage their sports activities.

Samsung's emphasis on the development of personalized health services

Samsung Health's personalized guidance capabilities will help users better interpret their health information and take steps to improve their daily health status, Hoon Pak, head of Samsung's mobile experience digital health team, said of the new changes to the app.

He also emphasized that Samsung plans to continue developing a reliable platform in the field of health by using the capacities of the Galaxy ecosystem and its proprietary technologies.
