Cal interviews the wrong Viking Sports Talk with Cal McCallister Ep. 5

Cal thought he was interviewing a musician from the Minnesota Vikings, but thanks to Judy's spectacular misunderstanding, he ended up on the phone with Johan Grendelson, guitarist for a Viking-themed heavy metal band called Jörmungadr.

Welcome to a Thursday in mid-October. Or should I say, welcome to the latest edition of True Romance. Today it's all about pushing back the notion that romance has failed and no longer exists.

For those who do buy it, and I'm sure some do, I'll give you several examples of those who do despite a likely downward trend overall. If nothing else, there is hope.

We've got the whole list from the smooth jock to the impressive DM to the couple dancing together and even a few actors covering their workplace romantically. Light a candle, relax and let's get into it.

Long before the lucky butt squeeze before the game or the messages written on the back of Haley Cavinder's pants or even warming up to Jake Ferguson's bad game, he was a classic shooter.

The Dallas Cowboys tight end slipped into former college athlete DMs and influencers with a line that finally worked and everyone can use.

"He just texted me and asked me if I was playing golf," Hailey said on an episode of People's WAG World.

And there's this idea that you can't meet people. Shooting a wild DM usually doesn't work. "How's your golf game" is fluent. The two succeeded, and now they are married, and one day they will tell their grandchildren a story.

Grandpa was in the NFL and Grandma danced on TikTok. They met after sending her a message on social media. A love story as old as time.

“I don't like to get too high or too low on these things. "I wasn't looking for anything and I don't know if Ferg was at that time either."

But then we spent 10 days straight together and he's just a nice, down-to-earth person.

Joe Barrow's Girlfriend Shares Cheating, Sister-in-law With Her Date, And Rekindle The Spark

Before we begin, let's find out the results of last week's poll. "Would you skip the wedding if your future husband called your sister's name down the aisle?" one

Considering the woman this happened to went through with the wedding, a staggering 72.5 percent said no, you're leaving that jerk at the altar. A bunch of unforgivable hopeless romantics, I think.

Couples who dance together, stay together

I bet, if that couple danced together, the husband-to-be wouldn't have said the bride's sister's name at the altar. Because if you didn't already know, couples who dance together are weird.

Let me finish with the oddities that "tighten their bonds and keep the spark alive." Take it from Los Angeles newlyweds Misha and Sam, who may be doomed if they need to pole dance or whatever as newlyweds to keep the spark alive.

But it will be something they will never encounter until they jump the pole together. And that's what we're here to focus on. The positive aspects of what these two are doing.

According to the NY Post, their first dance was "flips and sharp splits on a polished pole." It seems that hitting the pole can be done in front of others. That's an interesting twist to this that I didn't see coming.

I thought it was more about the privacy of your home activity. But why isn't there something for everyone? Who needs movie nights or long walks when you have this and all the options?

"There's a lot of stigma around pole dancing, some might think, 'Oh, it's just for strippers,'" Misha told The Post.

"Yes, it has sensual roots but there is a lot of athleticism in it. It is much harder than it seems. We love it."

Sam, who suggested they get into pole dancing, said: “A lot of people think pole is only for women. It's weird for them to see a guy do that, especially with his [female] partner. I just don't buy into negativity."

"There are times when I have to hold all of Misha's weight while we're doing a move, or he might have to position himself in a certain way to accommodate me," she added. It's like a metaphor for marriage."

There really is something for everyone. If you're willing to take a chance, you could be one of those people who finds someone you want to dance with for the rest of your life. That's a lovely thought, isn't it?

If you think about it, pole dancing together is really just a metaphor for marriage.

Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys in disguise on the set of The Americans "always had sex"

As much as I'd like to believe that couples pole dancing works for people, and I'm sure it does for some, I can tell you that a relationship based on having sex works for the entire set you're working on.

At least it is for Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys. They have been together since late 2013 after starting their relationship while working on The Americans.

Now we know that when they weren't filming, they were having sex in disguise on set. Why do we know that? Well, because it's 2026 and everyone is telling everyone else everything.

Which reminds me, I have to tell the story of a cemetery at night in the back of a Nissan Pathfinder. Anyway, back to Carrie and Matthew messing up their workplace.

"We would make love, stay up all night and have sex all the time and just wear disguises, like I'd do crazy wigs and pearls," Russell said during a podcast, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"When did you wear pearls and you were in trailers and everywhere. I mean, it was crazy. It was so fun and sneaky and sexy and so good."
