Martyrdom of 340 children since the ceasefire in Gaza
UNICEF announced that since the implementation of the ceasefire in Gaza, at least 340 children have been martyred in this area as a result of the attacks of the Zionist regime.
UNICEF announced that since the implementation of the ceasefire in Gaza, at least 340 children have been martyred in this area as a result of the attacks of the Zionist regime.
According to Ambassador Arjan, citing Ambassador Arjan Ricardo Pierce, the spokesperson of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), announced that since the ceasefire came into effect on October 11, 2025, the Israeli army has killed more than 340 children in the Gaza Strip and injured hundreds of other children.
Pierce said at the weekly press conference of the UN office in Geneva that only in the past two weeks, despite the ceasefire, 5 boys and 2 girls were martyred in the attacks of the Zionist regime. Also, 2 other children died due to previous injuries and at least 33 children were seriously injured.
He added that about 800,000 children are still displaced in the Gaza Strip and most of them live in tents or buildings that were damaged during the attacks and do not have enough security. Estimates also show that about 60,000 children in Gaza have lost one or both parents.
The spokesperson of UNICEF emphasized that the children of Gaza are in difficult conditions for survival for the fourth winter in a row. According to him, the ceasefire has led to a limited improvement in the food security situation, but the consequences of the war continue to affect all aspects of children's lives.
Pierce also announced that since the announcement of the ceasefire, more than 560,000 children have returned to school in various educational centers, including more than 200 educational centers supported by UNICEF.
At the same time, he warned that many basic services in the Gaza Strip are still out of reach and the human needs in this area are very extensive, while the available financial resources are far less than the required amount.
More than a year has passed since the beginning of the ceasefire, the attacks and violations of the Zionist regime continue in different areas of the Gaza Strip, and Palestinian residential areas and lands are targeted by military attacks.
On July 31, 2026, US President Donald Trump announced the achievement of a road map for the implementation of the ceasefire and the end of the war against Gaza, and the Palestinian groups also expressed their agreement with this road map on several occasions. However, the daily violations of the Zionist regime continue.
The continuation of these attacks has increased concerns about the weakening and collapse of the ceasefire; While the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip continue to face the consequences of war, widespread destruction and intensifying humanitarian needs.
