Preparedness for emergencies is the result of continuous training and skill-building
A responsible official, in a message marking the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, stressed: Preparedness for emergencies is the result of continuous training and skill-building.
According to Ambassador Arjan, the head of Red Crescent Society of the Islamic Republic of Iran, issued a message on the occasion of World Disaster Risk Reduction Day.
"Resilience must be learned before the crisis; From home and school, from the first years of childhood to the whole life.
Crises may change people's lives in a few moments; But the preparation to face them is not formed in the same moments. This preparation is the result of education, practice and institutionalization of safety behaviors; Knowledge that turns into skill and can protect human lives at the moment of an accident.
The slogan of World Disaster Risk Reduction Day 2026, "Resilience begins at home", emphasizes the fundamental role of the family in the formation of a culture of safety. This culture should start from childhood in the family, spread in school and continue in all stages of life. A child who learns prevention, proper behavior in emergency situations and helping others will not only have more power to protect himself and his family in the future, but can also play an effective role in increasing community preparedness...
Family and school play a decisive role in the formation of safe behaviors, media in raising awareness and responsible institutions in providing the field of public education. Also, resilience is not limited to remedial education; Physical and mental health, home safety, raising responsible children, social solidarity and economic power of families also play a role in society's capacity to face crisis. Aware and prepared neighborhoods, relying on people's participation and cooperative capacities, can be effective in reducing damages and strengthening the collective response to incidents.
World Day for Disaster Risk Reduction is an opportunity to emphasize a shared responsibility. We should not wait for a crisis to find out the importance of education. We should start from childhood, continue in the family and school and spread it throughout the country with the participation of people. A safer society is formed in people's homes, classrooms, and everyday behaviors before it is built on the battlefield."
