Chamran Warns: Waste Pickers Back on Tehran Streets / Three-Cabin Buses Still Not Delivered

Tehran City Council Chairman, criticizing the waste-picking situation in the capital, said waste pickers have resumed their activities and must be stopped.

Criticizing the situation of garbage collection in the capital city, the head of Tehran City Council said: Garbage collectors have started their activities again and their activities should be stopped.

According to the report of Ambassador Arjan, Mehdi Chamran stated in today's meeting (Tuesday) of the Tehran City Council, referring to the meeting's orders: review of the bill for determining the price of road use services by companies providing intelligent passenger services in 1405, the plan to form a cooperative and coordination center to deal with the challenges of Ken Gardens, Kohsar, Farahzad, Hesarek and similar areas, the audit reports of the financial year 1404 of the Tehran Municipality Taxi Management and Supervision Organization, the Technologies Organization Urban innovation of Tehran Municipality, Aftab Tehran International Exhibition Company and Tehran Municipality Sports Organization are also on the agenda of this meeting.

Ambassador Arjan wrote: Referring to the entry of three-cabin buses into the country, he said: These buses have entered the country, but they have not yet reached Tehran and have not entered the service cycle.

Referring to the return of the garbage collectors to the city, Chamran said: The garbage collectors have started their activities again and their activities should be stopped. We have given the necessary notices in this regard and we will raise these notices again.

Referring to the proposed programs in the field of housing, he said: In general, programs related to housing have been proposed and measures have been initiated in the 18th region, which is in a good condition. However, it has not yet been announced where else the construction will take place. If we can take positive actions in the field of housing, it will be a valuable action.

Chamran continued: Our priority is the issues that have been raised in the council. The special conditions of the city of Tehran push the city management in a direction that provides the ground for other actions. When the situation exceeds the normal, not only the mayor, but also all the institutions and people should help to manage the situation.

Referring to the development plan based on public transportation (TOD), he said: TOD is not a plan, but a method that can be used to advance plans. Of course, the related program must be approved first.

The head of Tehran city council said about the plan to stabilize prices and zero inflation: it is a good move to keep prices stable; But what will happen after that and how this plan will be implemented are issues that need to be waited and seen. At least people are happy and satisfied with this action.

Chamran stated about how to provide the budget for the eye-opening package: this issue is not defined in the budget and currently it is supposed to be provided from the municipality's own funds; However, the matter should be raised in the council.
