Lindsay Vonn kicks off the birthday weekend with a European bikini beach day, Bob Dylan's Memory and My Money
Screencaps, America's Best Daily column, explains why a 24-team College Football Playoff doesn't lead to a tougher out-of-conference schedule.
Indiana and Curt Cignetti broke college football | Don't @ Me w/ Dan Dakich
Dan reacts to one of the most wild and chaotic weekends in college football in recent memory — and explains why coach Curt Cignetti has officially ruined the patience of every athletic director and booster in the country.

Why don't I think a 24-team playoff would increase the chances of schools scheduling tough non-conference games during the regular season?
What incentive do schools have unless ESPN throws a bunch of cash at them? This year, Indiana's football season didn't begin until Oct. 10, when it played its first road test at Nebraska. Yes, it was a home game against Northwestern that was much closer than it should have been, but let's not act like facing Northwestern in this era is a big game.
These schools don't have enough depth to get through these seasons, why make it harder? Cignetti knows the formula. Consider the first 3-4 games as preseason. Get to know your quarterback's NIL transfers. Building continuity with the playoffs as a goal. Indiana needs to win three games to win the title in January. Bader now needs to win four games in the 24-game tournament.
The College Football Playoff will expand to 24 teams in 2027, with more games coming to campuses across the country.
Why play harder early games? This has a higher chance of injury. You have a better chance of losing your quarterback. More wear and tear on the bodies. More travel (perhaps, if your team actually leaves home). Unless we go to two super conferences and ban games against the MAC, Conference USA, etc., Indiana won't change anything.
I don't want to hear college football complain when it turns itself into college basketball. There is absolutely no reason, unless you are a degenerate, to work a regular season college basketball game. Iowa was 8-4 going into the tournament last year. Let it sink in.
CFB wants to have that open weekend between AFC/NFC weekend and the Super Bowl – badly. Personally, I don't need college football in late January. Moreover, this year, the championship will be held on January 25.
Now I'm wondering how CFB will fill the conference championship weekend since there's no way they won't be playing the weekend after Thanksgiving. Do they move the competition week to December? I don't see that happening. What sells more Thanksgiving weekend ads: random SEC games or Bama-Auburn or Ohio State-Michigan?
If you're a top-level college prospect who might be picked in the first round of the draft, how do you feel about the need to play high-level games and risk more wear and tear on your body?
College Football Playoff expansion is nothing more than a desperate bailout disguised as progress

I have to give Lindsey Vonn credit...she doesn't spend her days in the gym
At 41, Vonn can say screw it. He could start a podcast, sit on his ass all day and whine about random topics while slurping red wine. Instead, he's been at the gym to keep fit. Instead of using his platform to sit around his house and shout about politics and whatever else these losers do with their platforms, he's doing exactly what multi-millionaires are supposed to do - he's having fun in Europe giving away some money.
It just so happens that Lindsey turns 42 this weekend. Hell yeah, girl, go have fun with the new boyfriend. live
Do you really need a car that can fly like this?
Can you imagine a time in your life when you would need a car to perform this maneuver in your suburban neighborhood? One feature that can be interesting is 0-60 in less than a second. Imagine showing off this feature to your golf buddies after a round.
Buy one of these T will raise you several levels above what Frank Thomas sells.
Mailbag: Have you ever walked out of a concert and woken up?
Nick asks: If you were at a concert and the singer/band started giving a left wing speech, would you leave right away?
Kinsey: The only show I've ever thought of was Bob Dylan's at the Harrah Arena (RIP to the legendary, grimy, sticky warehouse) in Dayton, Ohio in the 1990s. Bob sat in a chair and hummed for about 70 minutes. I realize that Bob is humming, and that's his thing, but I'm humming to the point where I feel like it should have been institutionalized. I do not recommend Dylan's show to the enemy.
• Dave at Kitty Hawk Finds Out How My Brain Works: Thank you for saying what many of us have been doing. Sometimes there's nothing better than watching In the Kitchen with David (#NOTSPONSORED), especially this time of year when they start ramping up the holiday dishes. The wife doesn't even complain when it comes to one of those political commercials that plays out during a Hallmark movie.
While David tries to sell you on how good it is. That is, until you start calculating the cost per pound and think, who would pay $160 for that?
• John S. The Cowboys are on Sunday Night Football this week, which means Chris Collingsworth will be playing. Will he say more times this Sunday than Herbstreit did in the Tampa Bay/Dallas game? Can you ever imagine John Madden referring to Marty Schottenheimer as "Shatty".
What keeps you from having friends?
• Brandon weighs in at Northern Kentucky and is very honest: That's a great question. We haven't had a friend in our house for 10 years. We haven't had any family (except grandparents) since covid and it was only for birthdays, first nomads, graduations, not just a Bengals game. My wife won't say it, but I believe she feels judged.
Why did we move 11 years to a bigger house with more space for entertaining if we're never going to entertain? We are 44 years old and have 3 kids who are as busy as anyone with extracurriculars outside of school, so we like to take it easy, but at least bring some friends and family every once in a while.

• Chris B. in NC says his generation doesn't have this problem: I'm a bit of your age up north, but we always have a lot of people. A few nights ago we had a dinner party for 7 people including ourselves. We served custard, beer, twice-baked potatoes, roasted green beans, salad, fresh homemade rolls, homemade apple pie, homemade pecan pie, and homemade bourbon cream, with three bottles of drinkable Shiraz.
That's what we'd spend for a light dinner (for two) without drinks at our local place - but at home the food is better, the seats are comfortable, the music is better, and there's no server rushing us out so he can turn the table.
And that's it for this week. The weather has officially changed. The air is peppery. Beans in Chili Air. I'm talking hoodies, leaf blowers, then chili, then blankets in the sleepy weather, just as we enter the actual college football season.
Enjoy the games guys, see you tomorrow morning
