Jam Petrochemical Begins Production of Specialty Grade for Soda Bottle Caps with Annual Capacity of 20,000 Tons

Jam Petrochemical, after technical modifications to its polymer units and reconfiguring production lines, has begun supplying high-density polyethylene injection grade specifically for soda bottle cap production; the product aims to meet downstream industry needs and reduce dependence on imports.

By implementing technical changes in polymer units and reorganizing production lines, Jam Petrochemical started the supply of injection-grade heavy polyethylene for the production of soft drink lids; A product that is produced with the aim of meeting the needs of downstream industries and reducing dependence on imports.

According to Ambassador Arjan Bushehr, Jam Petrochemicals, after implementing re-pump operations in two polymer units and increasing the production capacity of light and heavy polyethylene lines, put the production and supply of a new specialized grade of heavy polyethylene on the agenda and succeeded in adding a special product for the production of soft drink lids to its product portfolio.

This product, which is an injection grade heavy polyethylene, is supplied with an annual production capacity of 20,000 tons, and its main application is in the manufacture of soft drink caps and bottles used in the carbonated beverage industry.

According to Jam Petrochemical's announcement, the production of this new grade has been achieved by relying on the technical ability of the company's specialists, changing the layout of the production lines and using the existing capacities of the polymer units. This action has been carried out as a continuation of the technical programs of the complex to optimize the performance of the units, increase the operational capacity and develop the variety of manufactured products.

Providing the needs of downstream industries and reducing dependence on imports

One of the main goals of producing this product is to respond to a part of the needs of the domestic market and reduce the dependence of downstream industries on the import of specialized grades of polyethylene. The domestic production of this raw material can provide the possibility of providing a part of the needs of producers of soft drink caps and bottles and reduce the foreign exchange outflow for importing this product.

In addition, developing the production of specialized products with specific industrial applications can help strengthen the relationship between the petrochemical industry and downstream industries. In this framework, the production of grades suited to the needs of industrial consumers, in addition to increasing the variety of products, provides the context for more targeted use of production capacities and promotion of added value.

Revamp polymer units; The foundation for the development of the product portfolio

In its technical plans, Jam Petrochemical has pursued the optimization of production units and increasing the utilization of existing capacities. The implementation of re-pump operations in two polymer units and the change of production line arrangement have also been done in line with this approach.

These changes, in addition to increasing the production capacity of light and heavy polyethylene lines, have made it possible to move towards the production of new and more specialized grades. The production of injection-grade heavy polyethylene for soft drink lids is one of the results of these technical measures.

With the launch of this product, Jam Petrochemical has taken another step in the development of its product portfolio; An action that can respond to a part of the needs of the country's packaging and beverage industries and create new capacities for the development of the market of specialized polymer products.
