Trump also announced an additional $955 million in federal investment in advanced chip technologies, bringing the total government investment in this area to $1.63 billion.
In exchange for this investment, the US government will receive the shares of Globalfoundries. Trump has estimated the value of the government's shares in this company to be more than 2 billion dollars.
