Payment of 18 Million Toman per Square Meter to Repair War-Damaged Units

The Head of the Housing Foundation said that for units requiring repair, up to 18 million toman per square meter of the damaged unit's floor area has been set based on the extent of the damage.

According to Mehr reporter, Manouchehr Khajedaloui, head of the Islamic Revolution Housing Foundation, today (Monday, October 20th) at the unveiling ceremony of the photo book and film of the Third Imposed War titled "Standing for Iran", referring to the actions of the Housing Foundation in the field of documenting the war and rebuilding the damaged units, he stated: In 1404, we went through two wars, including the 12-day imposed war and the 40-day war in the month of Ramadan.

He added: The Housing Foundation is responsible for several major tasks in connection with the 40-day war, one of which is the assessment of damages and the reconstruction of the damaged units of the people. Documenting the crimes committed by the US and the Zionist regime during this war is one of the other duties of the foundation. Also, in the next step, this foundation pursues the creation of a special information center for accidents.

The head of the Maskan Foundation stated: These works show what tragedies happened during this war and how the Iranian nation overcame the difficult conditions and its consequences. Documenting these incidents is a part of the actions of the Housing Foundation, and in the future legal measures will be taken by the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Explaining the latest state of damage assessment and reconstruction of residential and commercial units damaged by the war, he stated that the responsibility of rebuilding the damage caused to the residential and commercial sectors of the people was the responsibility of the Housing Foundation. In the first stage, this foundation started assessing the damages and so far 145 thousand residential and commercial units affected by the war have been evaluated.

Khajedaloui continued: Out of a total of 145,000 evaluated units, about 103,000 residential and commercial units have been damaged. The amount of damage to these units is different and ranges from minor damage to complete destruction. Also, part of people's daily necessities have also been affected by the war. The assessment of the damages in both the buildings and living equipment sectors has been done by the Housing Foundation and the measures related to compensation and repairs have also been started based on the plan approved by the Central Headquarters of Reconstruction.

Referring to the repair progress of the damaged units, he said: Out of a total of 103,000 units in need of repair, the repair operation of more than 92,000 residential units has been completed. We hope to announce the completion of repairs for all 103,000 units by the end of November this year.

The head of the Housing Foundation stated: The implementation of this amount of operations in the specified period was the result of the round-the-clock efforts of the Housing Foundation colleagues across the country and the participation of the people. Donors and jihadi groups also participated in this process so that the process of repairing and rebuilding the damaged units becomes operational.

Referring to the situation of the completely destroyed residential units, Khajedaloui said: About 1,360 units were completely destroyed during the war. These units have been redesigned and their debris has been removed by the Housing Foundation.

Issuance of free license for reconstruction of units destroyed by war

He added: The construction permits of these units are issued free of charge up to the ceiling of the previous infrastructure and based on Shaam's approval. So far, construction permits have been issued for 600 of these units and their implementation has started. Also, the construction of about 20 units has been completed and the implementation of other destroyed units is also being done gradually. We hope that by next year, the construction of all 1,360 destroyed units will be completed and the case for the reconstruction of these units will be closed.

The head of the Housing Foundation said: "In the reconstruction sector, some people may have personally taken the necessary measures, but have not yet submitted their invoices and documents to receive the fees." In some cases, the Housing Foundation has taken action to follow up on this issue, but a number of people have stated that they have done the repairs themselves and do not want to be charged. In other cases, it may be time-consuming to submit documents and receive fees. Therefore, part of the obligations related to the compensation of losses have been fulfilled and the other part is still being followed up.

Explaining how to pay grants to destroyed units, he stated: According to the government's decree, for units that have been completely destroyed, 25 million Tomans of grants have been considered for each square meter of the previous infrastructure, which will be paid.

Khajedaloui reminded: This is the first time that a grant is considered to compensate for the damages caused by the war. Previously, in the case of natural disasters and calamities, Qarz-ul-Hasna facilities were paid, but the government also approved the payment of grants during the 12-day war and the 40-day war.

In the end, the head of the Islamic Revolution Housing Foundation also noted about the compensation for the repair costs of the damaged units: for the units that need repair, amounts have been paid for the repair costs, according to the severity of the damage and the amount of destruction. These amounts are determined based on the amount of damage, up to 18 million Tomans per square meter of the infrastructure of the damaged unit.
