Amir Taheri: The Jihad of Explanation Is the Way to Counter the Enemy's Cognitive War

Kermanshah – The commander of the Western Regional Headquarters of the Army Ground Force, stressing the role of the Army's Political-Ideological Organization in guiding the intellectual orientation of personnel and their families, described the jihad of explanation as one of the tools for countering the enemy's cognitive and hybrid warfare.

According to the Mehr reporter, on Tuesday noon and at the same time as the 24th of Mehr, the anniversary of the establishment of the army's political ideological organization, Amir Brigadier Taheri, the commander of the West Nezaja regional headquarters, explained the missions of this organization, and emphasized the importance of intellectual guidance of the army employees and their families in the face of combined warfare.

He listed cognitive or perceptual war as one of the types of soft war and stated: In this type of confrontation, the mind, heart, perception and will of people are targeted and the enemy tries to influence the attitude and decision making of the society by managing thoughts.

Referring to the enemy's investment in the field of cognitive warfare against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the commander of the West Nezaja regional base added: This type of war involves different groups of society. From teenagers who are less aware of the issues of the revolution to people who believe that the enemy is trying to influence their will by using different methods and techniques.

Brigadier General Amir Taheri considered the media to be one of the main tools of cognitive warfare and stated: Satellite networks and virtual space have a high capacity to influence public opinion due to their extensiveness and significant progress, and for this reason, it is important to raise awareness and strengthen the discernment of the audience.

He described the role of the political ideological organization of the army as important in the education and intellectual guidance of employees and their families and said: this organization, relying on committed and expert human resources, can play a role in answering mental doubts and solving the intellectual concerns of employees and their families.

The commander of the West Nezaja Regional Headquarters also stated that modeling, strengthening school foundations and helping the growth and excellence of the army group are among the important tasks and strategies of the political ideological organization and added: this group has registered a record in this field in the course of fulfilling its missions.

Amir Brigadier General Taheri further considered Imam Khomeini's (RA) order in 1358 to form a political ideological organization in the army as a step in the direction of training selfless, brave and province-oriented forces and stated: The purpose of forming this organization was to strengthen the spiritual and religious capacities of the employees in the path of defending the country, the people and the revolution.

In the end, he considered the presence and standing of the army personnel against global arrogance as the result of the activities of the ideological political organization and emphasized the role of trust, commitment to the people and homeland, and obedience to the leadership in the approach of this organization.
