Ambulance Purchases Made Through International Tenders

The Director General of Support and Welfare Affairs at the Ministry of Health, speaking about the process of procuring the ambulances the country needs, said: Ambulances are usually purchased through international tenders.

According to Ambassador Arjan's report, quoted by Webda, Dawood Shams, referring to the necessity of developing and strengthening the country's ambulance fleet, stated: the provision and renovation of ambulances requires the provision of appropriate financial resources, and it is expected that parliamentarians and officials will provide special funds for the development of the country's ambulance fleet in the process of drafting the 1406 budget.

He added: In addition to increasing the capacity of transporting patients and injured, the development of the ambulance fleet can also help to reduce health costs in some areas. Because by increasing the transfer capacity and making it possible to bring patients to well-equipped medical centers in the shortest time, the need to establish hospitals or well-equipped medical centers will decrease in some areas, and the capacity of existing medical centers can be used more effectively.

Referring to the measures taken to strengthen the country's ambulance fleet, Shams said: Since the beginning of the year, two phases of ambulance distribution have been carried out, and based on the plans, we hope that the number of distributed ambulances will double by the end of the year.

He continued: If the required credit resources are provided, a part of the real needs announced by the specialized units will also be provided.

The director general of support and welfare affairs of the Ministry of Health emphasized the importance of the quality and equipment of ambulances and noted: an ambulance is a specialized vehicle and the higher the level of technical and equipment, the safer the transfer of patients and injured will be.

He also said about the process of providing the ambulances needed by the country: Buying an ambulance is usually done through holding international tenders, and a number of foreign companies were present in the last tender, but domestic companies have also shown a good ability in the field of equipping and completing ambulances.

Shams continued: Currently, the car chassis is provided from abroad and the process of equipping and converting them into ambulances is done inside, and we hope that with the development of the capabilities of domestic car manufacturers, in the future it will be possible to fully provide ambulances through domestic production. An issue that can increase the speed of providing an ambulance and strengthening the country's emergency fleet.
