The US President announced the suspension of some sanctions and customs tariffs imposed against Russia.

According to Ambassador Arjan, quoted by Reuters, US President Donald Trump on Friday ordered the suspension of some of the main sanctions and tariffs related to Russia, a few days before they were to take effect under the law signed last month.

These exemptions include tariffs on goods and sanctions on the sale of Russian oil and gas.

Trump said on Friday that this action is in the national interest of the United States.

The aforementioned law was signed in order to put more pressure on Russia due to the war in Ukraine, but Trump has recently criticized Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky by approaching this country.

According to the Russian sanctions bill, whose main supporter in Congress was the late Senator Lindsey Graham, tariffs of up to 100% were applied to all Russian exports to the United States, including crude oil or gas.
