Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly Reunite in 'NCIS: Origins'

A major NCIS reunion is set for this fall. Franchise characters Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly will reunite on CBS' NCIS: Origins after a decade, with Harmon appearing in a one-season arc. Fans should watch the October 20 episode to see Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Harmon) return to NCIS D.C.

A big NCIS reunion is set for this fall.

Franchise characters Mark Harmon and Michael Weatherly will reunite after a decade on CBS' "NCIS: Origins," where Harmon will appear for a one-season arc. Fans should tune in to the October 20 episode to see Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Harmon) return to NCIS D.C. headquarters to seek help from new director Tony DiNozzo (Weatherly) after Gibbs was shot by unknown assailants in the Season 3 premiere of Origins.

Weatherly's return to his mother's series was announced in July and made its debut in Season 24 on October 6.

When we first see Gibbs in the season premiere, he's still in Alaska with his trusty rescue dog, but he soon realizes that the peace he's found there can't be easily sustained. Showrunner and executive producer David Jay North recently told Deadline about Harmon's storyline this season.

When asked if we could expect to see other NCIS legends as part of this mystery or potential crossovers, Manaz North teased, "I'd say it's a definite possibility..."

NCIS: Origins follows the story of a young man named Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) in the early 90s, years before the events of NCIS, and is narrated by Harmon. Also starring Kyle Schmid, Mariel Molino, Tayla Abercrombie, Diani Rodriguez and Caleb Foote.

NCIS: Origins season 3 is executive produced by North, Mark Harmon, Sean Harmon, Michele Greco and Eric Christian Olsen. CBS studio produces this series.
