The next time you code a custom app with Google AI Studio, you don't need to connect your phone to your computer to install it. On Tuesday, Google introduced a new feature in the US that lets you launch personal apps directly from the Play Store.

Google first launched the Vibe-code feature of personal Android apps in May. Even though you can now launch your own custom apps on Google Play, the company notes that it will still keep them "secure, private, and separate from the public Store catalog." You can also set them up using a standard Google account, and the company will soon add the ability to share your app with a group of people.

While this might make it easier to play around with beta apps, Google is pitching it as an on-ramp for new developers. "If you want to share your app with the world, Google Play helps you graduate with the same trust and a professional developer account. Safety reviews and high quality standards as professional developers," Sam Bright, Google's vice president and general manager of Google Play, wrote in the announcement.
