100 public libraries are active in Zanjan; Completion and renovation of centers in priority

Zanjan - Director General of Public Libraries of Zanjan province announced the activity of 100 library chapters in the province and said: Completion of half-finished projects, development of mobile libraries and renovation of existing centers are underway.

In a conversation with Mehr reporter, Mohammad Reza Khani, referring to the existing capacities in the province's library field, said: Currently, 100 public libraries are operating in Zanjan, including 44 urban libraries, 36 rural libraries, 6 mobile libraries, and 14 collaborative libraries.

Stating that the number of library resources and active members is not constant due to nationwide memberships and instant registration, he added: The dispersion of libraries in the cities and villages of the province has provided relatively wide access to study and cultural services for fellow provinces.

Emphasizing the necessity of responding to the diverse needs of the audience, completing half-finished projects, renovating and equipping existing libraries, and developing study spaces, Reza Khani listed the main axes of the programs of this collection and said: Creating spaces that suit the needs of teenagers and young people and strengthening services in rural and underserved areas are also on the agenda.

The general director of public libraries of Zanjan province considered the development of mobile libraries as one of the ways to increase access to library services and stated: This capacity is developed to cover areas that do not have fixed libraries or are far from library centers, so that the residents of these areas can benefit from study resources.

He went on to describe the latest state of the province's library projects and stated: First-class library in Abhar with 60% physical progress, Modares Khorramdare library and Ostad Roozbeh library are under construction each with 70% progress.

Reza Khani also announced the physical progress of the Imam Khomeini (RA) Red Crescent Library at about 35% and added: This project is also one of the plans being implemented by the public libraries of the province.

Referring to the renovation process of Allameh Hali Zanjan public library, he said: The basic renovation of this library is in the final stages and it is expected to be put into operation in the coming book week.

The general director of public libraries of Zanjan province noted that the improvement of infrastructure, the improvement of existing libraries and the expansion of services in different regions of the province are pursued with the aim of facilitating people's access to study resources and creating suitable environments for study and cultural activities.
