Emphasis on smartening the protection of natural areas

The commander of the environmental protection unit, during his visit to the Sarkhehsar National Park, emphasized on improving the operational capacity of the environmentalists, using new technologies and intensifying the monitoring of environmental violations.

According to Ambassador Arjan Hassan Abbasnejad, Director General of Environmental Protection of Tehran Province, announced the visit of the Second Brigadier General Reza Rostgar, the commander of the Environmental Protection Unit, to the environmental protection checkpoints and different parts of Sorkheh Hesar National Park and said: improving the training of environmental guards, using modern equipment and satellite information, and strengthening the monitoring of environmental violations were among the axes emphasized in this visit.

Second Brigadier General Reza Rastegar, Commander of the Environmental Protection Unit, along with Hassan Abbas Nejad, Director General of Environmental Protection of Tehran Province, visited the environmental protection posts and different departments of the area in the Sarkheh Hesar National Park, and in a face-to-face meeting with the environmental guards, he was informed about their issues, needs and challenges in carrying out their protection missions.

In the intimate meeting held with the environmental guards, the issue of improving the level of specialized training and empowering the forces of the protection unit was emphasized. Also, the necessity of using new technologies, satellite information and advanced communication equipment, including wireless satellites, to increase the operational capacity of the rangers and improve the monitoring of the areas under management was noted.

During this program, the commander of the Environmental Protection Unit also visited the General Directorate of Environmental Protection of Tehran Province and the Headquarters of the Environmental Protection Unit of the province and emphasized on strengthening the facilities and equipment needed for the effective performance of protection missions.

Examining cyber space monitoring solutions with the aim of identifying environmental violations and following up and dealing with violators legally were among the other topics discussed in this visit.

This visit was done in order to strengthen the protective capacity, improve the operational readiness of environmentalists and take advantage of the capacity of new technologies for more effective protection of the areas under environmental management.
